"State Farm offered me my first internship experience ever, so I can say that State Farm is amazing in its efforts at handing out opportunities. My time there was encouraging and my project managers were not only helpful, but pushed me to go beyond what I knew. The engineering department at State Farm is extensive but still it is an insurance company and for engineers and developers, there isn't a strong development and creative culture that exists."

"Working for a State Farm agent is a great place to develop customer service and sales skills. However, it is not a great long-term position as you are employed by the agent and not State Farm itself and thus have no upward mobility."

"If they only paid right, I would have stayed. Everyone starts from the bottom and has the opportunity to promote within 6 months. Wish it could have worked out for me. Don't go there until you have a lot of claim experience. This will make promotion easy for you."

"I worked at State Farm for just over a year. I had a great boss and a great team. Overall it was a positive experience. I felt I had very little control over my future. I felt undervalued. I needed more. It was time to make a change."

"I started with StateFarm in 2011. The company used to be a very fun place to work. But recently the company has become a major numbers place. If your numbers aren't good enough you get fired. They are trying to cut costs but it is affecting company morale all over the enterprise."

"I worked for the top auto insurer in the US. State Farm is the leader in auto insurance. I started as an agent in Oregon and became the top agent in PACNW after 7 years, I went into management and within 2 years became the top management office in California. First to be promoted to agency executive within 2 years. Over 12 great years of being an agency executive qualifying for every top award State Farm has to offer. "I worked for State Farm for over 3 years. Overall, the company has some good benefits and working environment. Unfortunately, they tend to inhibit improvements to IT systems by limiting critical assessments of current processes and procedures. This is what ultimately caused their need to cut IT staffing by about 30% to save money to finish an extravagantly over budget project."
