"Its said that they want to retain employees but between increasing hybrid in some departments and lower than market pay for roles—do they really? I was told State Farm used to provide a pension so maybe those people will stay long term but so far they’re hiring thousands of people and then most walk right back out the door three to six months later. Too many metrics, too low pay, and blocks to getting new roles."
"I've worked with State Farm long enough to know this company should be avoided at all costs. This is a toxic work place, the leadership does not care, and they will do anything except behave in a professional appropriate manner."
"Toxic environment with unnecessary pressure. Rates are always changing and State Farm rates are garbage. Would sign people up and they would call back in a month or two asking why there was a 20% increase in their bill. Pretty absurd business practices. Toxic work environment where they stated "We're just like a family!" When in reality you are just a spinning cog in the wheel. You will be miserable and surrounded by miserable people who complain about the customers they have to sell to and service. Cold calls are terrible conversion opportunities and the only people that are semi interested in going through a quote just do it to see how "your price compares." Don't sell your soul to this corporation that works off people not checking their premiums and why they go up. The software that employees are expected to use is ancient, has constant slowdowns and problems that don't allow for normal work to get done. My boss let a mean and hasty coworker train me who was abnormally angry to answer general questions and provided poor feedback."
"Since working for this specific State Farm agency I have grown so much as a sales person. The consistent mentorship, coaching and feedback has been unmatched and is something I hold close to my heart and will take with me. Being fairly compensated while being able to help families is a great feeling, and being surrounded by a team of likeminded individuals is just the icing on the cake. Only downside is that my commute is a bit long for my liking, being over an hour each way."
"This was a very good application form that was straight to the point and got very important information that is required in order to pick potential candidates."
"It is a good company to work at"
"State Farm got rid of the pension. I’m looking at the starting salary for people who work in claims at other companies and State Farm isn’t even competitive with the other companies anymore. Plus all they care about is metrics. Your too micro managed."
"State Farm is a good company to work for."
"professional and Good place to work"
"A company for the Go Getter. My experience with my current employer has been good overall. I believe there is still an environment of wringing the most out of every individual, but that is to be expected. It is nice to know there aren’t share holders demanding more money, but appearance and perception are king here."
"I’ve worked at State Farm for 7 years and seen many changes in the culture and process of the company. I believe they are striving to be effective and efficient in every area of their business. This has meant some loss in employee engagement and customer focus, but is an overall benefit to the company."
"I've worked for State Farm Insurance for almost 32 years. The company takes a strong stance in training to assist in one's success. The company has taught be to be extremely flexible, dependable and most of all, a dedicated employee. Unfortunately, the company made some changes in order to remain competitive causing my department to be laid off. I'm truly grateful for the many opportunities afforded to me and treasure the friendships I have made throughout my career."
"Externals have no option of growing up."
"Great place to work, especially for anyone who needs a flexible schedule."
"I worked for David Santana State Farm for a year. I was the main sales agent for the office and I was responsible for quoting & closing new insurance applications."
