1.8When I started at this company I was excited about how much they boasted this company to be. I have been with this company now for a number of years and I have to say that from the time that I started to now it has become the most unorganized company that I have ever worked for. And to be a company that has been around for as long as it has, it should not be this unorganized. Meaning there are departments being penalized for actions of most agents offices and no penalties to individuals that are not doing their jobs properly. Also meaning, that other departments are being adjusted unreasonable to the point of not having any choice but to leave. This company has changed dramatically since I started and I am highly disappointed. It has become more difficult to stay with a company, that knows the problems that need to be addressed, and are not doing so and the little people are having to deal with the aftermath. I have never been cussed out by customers as much as I have here, for them feeling as if State Farm doesn't care to assist them. Their agents' offices are not contacting them, barely speaking to them, speaking to their customers any kind of way. I have literally had to talk people out of leaving State Farm because of how they are treated by their agents' offices. Not all, but a lot!!! You can't even focus on doing your own job because they force you to have to do everyone else's by not holding the right people accountable. The metrics are ridiculous and unreasonable. Regardless of emergencies, misfortunes that are out of your own hands, they will fire you and or penalize you with an unreasonable point system. I have not myself been penalized by this system, but I have watched people suffer because of it. For future employees, and for those that have not experienced this yet, and feel that these complaints are lies if you don't get a high position as quickly as possible...you'll learn soon enough.
3.1I have worked at SF for a number of years. When I started, you were welcomed, the atmosphere was friendly, and the training was over the top. Now, employees get minimal training, are micromanaged like children, work in sweatshop environments, and nobody, I mean nobody, seems to give a rip. Currently they are doing everything they can to pitch high wage earners, that is those over 100K. Everybody over 100K has a target on their forehead. Kids start at this place making less than I did when I started. Pay increases are decreasing, the number of higher level positions have been reduced and pretty much you will have to fit various profiles or have pictures of the CEO rolling around with pigs to move up. Whatever SF was when I started is dead. I am hanging on by my fingernails to make it 4 more years, but I am one of the ones with a target on my forehead. My specific working conditions are ok, but I tell you if you are young, look elsewhere. This is a freakin mutual company with 2 jobs, keep the customer happy and keep the employees happy. I am watching the hatchet man come through this place with a dull blade and bludgeoning employees. Meanwhile the customers, well they are simply leaving. We have metrics all over the place and we never look at the right data. We miss root cause and end up making the dumbest decisions for customers and employees. Can't wait to retire from this place. Honestly, if the competition ever had an opportunity to take down the big fat dog, it's right this very moment.
2.4Loosen up. You're killing morale. Expect a sharp increase in attrition over the next five years. (One in four was actively seeking a new job when I left.) Unless you drastically change your approach, your position as insurance leader will fall to someone else.
