"Know what you are testing, and test every bid of the software if asked to do so."

"I don't like that sometimes it takes too long for the company to move me to a different project, once I am done with the current project."

"I want to grow, and I want management to help me in this. I don't like to be stuck in the beginner place."

What don't you like about working at Microsoft?
"I personally do not care for the Seattle area. The traffic to and from work made my days start and end miserably. There is an unfortunate classist attitude held by many permanent employees towards contract workers."

"Take the time to get to know your employees. Reward performance instead of lip service."

"The work was interesting and challenging. The support for even contractors for commuting was astounding. The facilities were the best ever."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"In my own hiring, I have found that broad experience can be as useful as depth in those cases where the job description is not so narrowly defined. Even if you are working on kernel code, it's nice to have an understanding of how Apache would stress it."
What don't you like about working at Microsoft?
"Leadership was not visionary. That said, our group was chartered with making something new by simply restructuring the old OS."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Win8 running on arm cpu's is a bit of a mold breaker. It will force them to rethink how their software works in that environment. Mold breaking is good for Microsoft, for their products, and eventually for consumers."
