"The people were nice and respectful. Benefits were pretty good."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"The training and job are extremely boring and micromanaged. You can move up but you will still be just a supervisor for the same boring job. Get used to drab colors and being stuck in a cubicle all day with too many files to handle."

What don't you like about working at GEICO?

Customer Service Representative

"Don't trust managers; they may seem friendly, but they will lie like no other about you just to make themselves look good."

What do you like about working at GEICO?

"The job doesn't depend on the market; it's the law to have this product! The pay was okay, 31k a year, and profit-sharing was nice."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Don't work here; please pick a different company, or at least stay away from customer service."

What don't you like about working at GEICO?

"I dislike the turnover. If you are headed or thinking about customer service, don't do it. Pick something else or run. They hire groups of 12 constantly because people are always quitting. For example: when I got hired there were 10 of us. Now there are only two within eight months of being hired. In the group before me there is only one left. I'm on a team with my supervisor with eight people now, and the oldest tenured person has only been here 1.5 years, and it's hard to find someone besides a manager who has been there for over two years when it comes to customer service. I know some of you might be desperate, but please pick something else besides customer service. To give you an idea of what you will be doing on a day-to-day basis... Come to work, get on the phones, and don't ever get off the phones, and never take a break. Phone calls are non-stop with no breaks in between phone calls. As soon as that phone call ends, you are on the phone with the next customer. There are usually about 15 calls on hold, and you will do this for eight hours, five days a week. If you are working on something for a customer but not on the phone, management will come on you and tell you to stop and get back on the phones. Another bad thing is that you will not get Saturday and Sunday off. You will get one week day off and either Saturday or Sunday off."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"It is way too micromanaged and a lot of resources and money are wasted from continuing to hire new people . I thought this was about retaining and being low cost"
