"Allow some leeway in work/life balance. Being on call 24/7/365 for years at a time creates undue stress on family relationships."

"I dislike every year wondering whom I had to let go from my team. Cisco always employed what is called the top people in the industry, meaning that we as managers needed to weed out the ones that did not belong, even though they might be still 'good'."

"Try having a flat organization structure. They have a slight bias towards hiring U.S. citizens for senior management positions."

"This part of Cisco was SA (Scientific Atlanta) and has not really been brought into Cisco. It has too many silos still left over from SA and little kingdoms."

"Clean house at Cisco in Atlanta. They have begun this process, but it has taken them way too long. (SA was bought over seven years ago.)"
