"Cisco has tremendous potential for innovation. However, processes and tools have not changed for 10+ years and this greatly hinders Cisco's ability to innovate and places a drag on employee productivity and creativity. Cisco's culture is very customer centric which I appreciate, but without changes it is a very challenging and difficult environment to work in."
"I've worked with Cisco Systems since 2005. The Company is Enterprise customers oriented and is working to reinvent itself from the best Networking Gear Provider in the world into the Best IT Company in the world. Along the way many mistakes are made and many people never see the efforts of their daily job integrated in customer servicing products. Cisco is very people oriented and follows strong processes to insure alignments at all times."
"Strong company with family friendly work environment. Some groups work in a start up mode requiring employees to work at night and week ends. Compensation and other benefits are good and hence had overall good experience. Work culture depends on the group. Most of the time is spent on e-mails and meetings and hence the productivity is greatly impacted."
"Great company to experience global corporate environment settings with really good compensation and benefits!"
"Cisco is good company to work for."
"Nice company to start the career, and get trained. Lack of innovation."
"First of all, I was located in the Boxborough, MA campus which was not listed for Cisco so I selected Sacramento. Cisco is GREAT! Wonderful benefits, they allow for personal growth and at least my work environment gave me great latitude and responsibility. Unfortunately, Cisco acquired my product through their acquisition of Webex. Since they don't keep small to medium business products, the staff was not kept and at that time there were no other qualifying jobs within the company and our pay was low."
"I've worked with Cisco System since 2007 and I like the company a lot. Cisco offered a great opportunity for an engineer to learn and advance in their career. I would love to work for them again if there is an opportunity that meets my qualifications."
"I've found this company a great place to work and learn. The opportunities are tremendous, yet the large organization size brings with it some challenges too. Overall, it has been an enriching experience."
"I've worked for Cisco for the last years. I would not recommend it for engineering positions. All engineering is being outsourced."
"Friends don't let friends work at Cisco Training. There's good stuff buried in Learning@Cisco, the Cisco customer-facing training organization. None of that makes up for a chaotic abusive environment. Cisco is loaded with vicious climbers who think it's cool to have Cisco on the resume. The environment is indecisive, openly antagonistic to change, improvement or common-sense. The whole of training is run on old Excel spreadsheets and project management software that is write only."
"Very generous to employees!Good company to work for."
"Cisco is a good place to work if you have no aspirations to advance within the organization. Opportunities for promotions are extremely limited unless one is connected to the politically correct managers."
"I worked for Cisco Systems. The company is very solid in hardware and software designfor networking. The company is very generous with its employees.Unfortunately layoffs happen every couple of years.Collectively, I worked for almost eight years for the company."
"I liked this job very much, Cisco is a very good place to work."
