"I've worked at Cisco Systems since August 2007. I have also moved within the company from one location to another and find that most of the people who advance are near their managers. If you are remote, it's harder for you to show your improvement or accomplishments. I do feel most of the great positions and advancements happen in new offices or in San Jose, CA the HQ. Sometimes attaining training is hard to accomplish and acquiring a CCIE within Cisco is basically null and voided at Cisco."
"Cisco is a tribute for poor quality products and average engineers and managers that do not strive for simplicity, quality and innovation."
"I think Cisco is a great company to work for. Being a huge organization a vertical movement of career is relatively difficult. I guess that's the drawback of a huge corporation."
"Cisco was a great company to work for."
"Not really my type of company. Here at least in the department that I interacted with, hardly people care about the need of business. Everyone wants to push their agenda. People don't care care if business really going to benefit from it."
"Working for Cisco was a great and easy experience."
"Not much else to say. If you get a chance to work for Cisco, do so."
"I really liked the company in terms of gaining knowledge in technology. But my compensation was not good and there is no correlation between the amount of efforts you put in and recognition you get."
"Good place to work. Good work location. Lot of things to learn."
"I didn't have much if any contact with my supervisor in this position. He worked in another state. When I started the Cisco campus had 4 buildings and just over 1000 employees. When I left one building and under 500 people working that location. I was on sight support for that network but when Cisco downsized they moved most of the data centers to Dallas."
"Good company to work for. Nice work culture."
"Good place to learn and grow."
"Good company and good working people."
"So I was working since 2012 and I loved the working place environment."
"I have worked for Cisco Systems for over 14 years. Great company from a financial perspective and the people are very strong technically. The company continues to be a strong player in the network. I have learned a lot about routing and data networking. The biggest disappointment is career growth as it relates to senior level opportunities, the company is growing but in a very limited fashion. Senior opportunities are limited and it does matter who you know, especially in remote locations."
