"The pace and culture drives the organization, and it's something that either you love or you hate. Be ready for it."

What don't you like about working at Asurion?

"Expectations are extremely high the minute that you walk in the door, and the conversations and training that I had 3 months after I had started would have been extremely useful from day 1."

"High stress, high reward. High learning opportunities."

What do you like about working at Asurion?

"Asurion's IT moves really, really fast. Many say Asurion years are equivalent to dog years. There is no vacation policy - you take off when you're able if your manager is okay with it. There are plenty of learning opportunities and freedom if you actively pursue these things. It is very high stress due to the speed but high pay. You get to wear many hats - I'm the product manager, project manager, business analyst, developer, administrator, and operator for three products."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Show that you are driven, that you are not a yes-man, and that you are comfortable in a flexible, high-speed environment. I was hired because I demonstrated that I taught myself whatever I needed to know and took the initiative to do things correctly and completely."

What don't you like about working at Asurion?

"Nashville is terrible. The stress can really get to you if you do not manage it. Due to the speed, there is often a lack of focus. The business and IT management change goals frequently in attempts to keep up with customers. Due to the speed and lack of focus, personnel aren't given the time they need to keep the environment stable."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Get more headcount. The speed is fine, but to get the environment stable, more personnel are needed."

"Working from home and having the freedom that comes with that."

What don't you like about working at Asurion?

"Lack of support for front line people that deal with assisting escalated customer issues."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Greater support coverage, better work balance for those who deal with escalated issues for customers and better access to systems to resolve those issues."

What do you like about working at Asurion?

"Location and hours. Strong benefits. Plenty of opporunity for travel."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"They don't volunteer anything they don't want you to know ... ask, ask, ask - and ask some more!"

What don't you like about working at Asurion?

"Very top-heavy in upper management. Prohibitive to making decisions and getting things done. To many creative or innovate thinker - noone to do the actual work or even determine how it can realistically get done. The concept here is for someone who is trying to make a name for themselves to come in and change everything about everything without actually doing any work - just trickled it downwards - the bottom dwellers will be responsible for actally figuring out how to get it done - or burning out or getting fired trying."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"1) If it ain't broke - don't fix it. Change for the sake of change, just to make a name for someone is useless. Before making change - look at the longterm goal, and the steps needed to get there - then decide if change is warranted. 2) Get rid of some of your highly-paid but virtually useless upper-level management so that there are fewer people involved in decision making .... put those dollars into getting yourself some front-line, support teams, and supervisors who are the ones trying to do the actual work. 3) Education program for clients/customers 4) Compliance with Industry and Regulatory Standards - they are being broken every day."

What do you like about working at Asurion?

"Convenient location. nice people advertisement and recruiting spiel sounded good."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Go work at McDonald's, you'll be a lot happier and better treated."

What don't you like about working at Asurion?

"Call types - 4th call center in 12 years - most abusive customers I've ever seen. Just got my yearly raise... got a big 11 cents after almost 2 years. Even McDonald's does better than that. Slave labor, barely minimum wage, funky systems, no respect and no support."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Management always thinks they know everything but they're not the ones doing the work. Should try listening to employees sometime. Also should think of the extra pack of Mr. Noodles their big raise lets me buy when they're enjoying their 3-figure salary."

What do you like about working at Asurion?

"Nothing anymore. Used to feel valued and appreciated - now just feel abused. Used to have power and authority to exercise judgement and help the caller, now no authority to do anything except give the same answer over and over while being verbally abused. The one thing I like is the supervisors, they try so hard, and they each do the job of about 10 people with no thanks for doing it."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Unless you're into self torture, are not human, or are literally starving to death - don't bother."

What don't you like about working at Asurion?

"No support from higher up, program is not explained to customers and they don't know what they're agreeing to, and we aren't given the tools, systems, or authority to properly handle their calls. We also have no limit to the abuse we must take from them when they find out they were lied to."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Decide whether you are an insurance company that follows the insurance regulations, or a customer service company that is trying to please the customer all the time. Sometimes you can't be both, you guys break rules and even laws every day for the client and then are too scared to tell the customer no, this is insurance and you have no valid claim."

"If you need a job - go for it. If you're looking for better than you have right now - think twice."

What don't you like about working at Asurion?

"I have had 7 Supervisors in 5 months. Coaching/Development sessions frequently cancelled, training cancelled, meetings cancelled, lunch breaks shortened. Always system issues, equipment failures, etc. Poor support, poor resources. Highly abusive customers based on poor education about the service and poorly advertised company policies. Performance expectations are completely out of touch with reality of their systems and resources."
