What do you like about working at ARAMARK?

"I like that I can be creative and make suggestions on how to make my job better."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Do not interview... it's a waste of time. You will not get anywhere. I got an 18 cent raise last year... when I took on way more job duties. Horrible."

What don't you like about working at ARAMARK?

"Where do I begin... the raises are horrible. If you want to make money to live of off, do not work here. The management is just concerned about the numbers and the stupid paper work. That is all, just busy work that is a waste of time. Also, I think the managers are sexist against women. I know for a fact women make less than men doing the same job. This company is horrible. If you know what's good for you don't work here."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Get new ones. Do not micro manage, that is the worst thing you can do. It is so frustrating to hear one thing from one manager and one thing from another. You're left to think... what the hell do I do."

What do you like about working at ARAMARK?

"I worked for this company for right around 5 or 6 years and in that time I worked with a wide range of people. This gave me a wide range of development in retail sales and customer service, as well as working with and developing a great staff. There was a nice bit of freedom in our location, which made team building and supervisory development possible. Very challenging and rewarding if you love working with people."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"I would avoid this company unless you really want to be a hospitality field. Working in the various parks can be a huge amount of fun, but if my location speaks for any of the other places, the amount of work versus the pay and the the quality of company experience do not equal out. At the end of the day, I'd rather work for a company with a lot more integrity than what I've seen from ARAMARK."

What don't you like about working at ARAMARK?

"While I loved the job that I did, it was really despite ARAMARK and not because of them that we had such a fantastic and dedicated staff. The first problem was compensation. The company quite simply doesn't give much compensation to lower level employees beyond a free lunch and some discounts. Want a raise? They come annually, but at around a 3% figure, you aren't making much headway over inflation if you stay for years. That's another big problem. There is almost no commitment to company centered development of anyone other than managers. I knew around 120 different people in my 6 years there, and absolutely none of them were promoted into management positions in that time. All management were brought in from outside positions, which resulted in pretty high turnover and very low morale. Management also had high turnover. Equipment was old, unreliable, and almost never replaced. There was almost no real company structured culture."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Improve training programs for new workers and invest more in development of hourly workers into management. Hire with more scrutiny rather than to just fill positions. I know the occasional bad hire slips in, but at my account it was prolific. Terrible profit margins, manager burnout, customer service issues, all could have been alleviated by one extra interview in the hiring process. The ARAMARK atmosphere I experienced is also entirely too separate between management and in the sales locations. This means very little opportunity for anything but micro managing by the management staff."

What do you like about working at ARAMARK?

"The job is never boring and I have a lot of respect from peers."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Hard working talent is wasted and I am much happier since leaving that position last year and working for a company who values my work ethic and rewards everyone based on input and not politics."

What don't you like about working at ARAMARK?

"Front line managers receive no bonuses and do the lions share of the work. The focus seems to be on cutting management positions and expecting more from fewer for less compensation. Morale is terrible and manager turnover rate is extremely high. I have witnessed one manager move up with company in another location, none fired, 6 resigned in 2 years. All upper level managers come from outside companies. I have witnessed zero advancement internally."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Focus on promoting from within and by rewarding and praising those who perform well, not only upper management but especially mid level."

"Work/life balance is perfect, I enjoy being able to set my own hours and work from home."

What don't you like about working at ARAMARK?

"Little to no recognition for a job well done, plenty of blame is passed around if it is not though."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Pay attention and compensate your workers appropriately, they are the ones that put you where you are."

"Close to home, manufacturing experience, learn Gm and UAW relationships."

"Is a great place for a man or woman to get a job to support their family."

"The relationship between management and the UAW and its committee men."

"Hard to explain, too many mistakes made in the past setting bad priorities."

"Free fountain beverages, and other than that, I cannot think of anything else."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Run for your life. This company works you to death and pays you very little. Their food quality is very poor for the prices they charge, yet can't pay employees a living wage or let them take time off for sick leave or deaths in the family."

What don't you like about working at ARAMARK?

"Racist management, rude management, misogynistic views of females by manager, no chance of advancement for women or people of color. Made people work when they were very ill, or had deaths in the family, no sick days. MADE LESS THAN $10K A YEAR WORKING OVER 30 HRS A WEEK!!!!"

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Overhaul the whole company, and don't hire people with failed business backgrounds or with no college education."

"Training was made available to salaried employees compensation was ok until you calculate the hours you work."

"I would say go, for it but raises are now capped at 2% and the starting wages aren't that great... So I have to say skip it."

"Work load was too much for the management staff that was at the location."

"You have lost sight of who makes your company - the employees. Instead of worrying about cost per meal, worry about putting a quality product out."

"To have a good knowledge of the required skill and great social relation skills."

"There were too many changes of upper level managers and lack of consistency."

"To be consistent and not to impliment too many policies that were not enhancing workplace health."

"Food tastes better when you work for it. Working in catering made me see that."

"Make sure you thoroughly research the company and know what you are getting yourself into."

What don't you like about working at ARAMARK?

"It came to a point where I was so sick and tired of being told what to do and getting in trouble for it because it was wrong, that I started doing what I thought was correct and ignoring my so called superiors."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"I would make sure that every employee was properly trained in all aspects of the job, in case they had to fill in elsewhere."

"You would need to be honest in the interview process and be patient. It takes a while to hear back."

"The computer systems are behind the times and budget constraints hold up the process."

"No. You're on your own. It all depends on the top personnel that is at that location."

"We did not have a bench person to refurbish equipment and had to do it ourselves before we started our day."

"The GM was involved in all operations as should be, but lacked common sense."
