What do you like about working at United States Navy?

"It is a very multicultural environment. You have the opportunity to work with people from many different backgrounds and nations. Also, it gives a recent college graduate the opportunity to develop leadership and experience that can be very valuable when looking for civilian employment after the military."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Highlight leadership skills in your background. Make sure you are physically fit and able to do well on any tests they give you."

What don't you like about working at United States Navy?

"You are never anywhere long enough to make a change. Change is slow at best in the Navy. If things do not go well you might be pegged as the scapegoat. Good leaders are let go early and the overbearing ones stay in to retirement. There is no work life balance. It is all about the mission and not very friendly to families. The Navy is good for single people that enjoy working a great deal."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"It is the United States military. If you don't like how it runs the only thing you can do is leave."

"The EKMS Alternate position is cut and dry. My workspace has all the right tools to do the job. We perform a lot of customer service functions to 24 local elements ensuring they get guidance and receive COMSEC materials to complete their jobs and keep circuits activated. There is a lot of reading of policies and instructions involved."
