"The United States Navy is generally a good environment. The pay is equal to the work that is accomplished. Considering that the military gives you a home, medical, dental, extra pay, and vacation time, the military is an easy life. The downside is favoritism, unrealistic advancement requirements, and misuse of funds."

"The DoD (Navy) is a great place to start a career as an apprentice. The capabilities to advance in the DoD is enormous as well as generous. A minor drawback while working for any shipyard is the countless changes in command, leadership, and direction the Navy wants to transition as well as the commanding officer you work for. The Navy wants to operate the shipyard as a Corporation but really needs to truly reacquaint itself as naval vessel maintenance, repair and/or overhaul business."
