"The people, the mission, and the training made the NSA an amazing place to work. The Navy was not the best way to do that."

"Be clear with your recruiter in terms of your goals and desires."

What don't you like about working at United States Navy?

"The only downside to my previous position was that I was active duty Navy."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Allow your sailors to be professionals first, everything else later."

"I'm surrounded by issues that impact our warfighters. Using technology to assist is great."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Be prepared to go a bit slow. Technology use is not leading edge. Benefits are pretty good. Be ready for old school military, slow activity on decision making."

What don't you like about working at United States Navy?

"My boss's boss is a micro manager, who doesn't foster a positive work environment. She makes decisions in a vacuum and seldom accepts new ideas from others. Working for the Gov't has it perks, but I'm missing working in the private sector. New technologies, job varieties, etc."

"I would spend more time listening, advising to each group."

What do you like about working at United States Navy?

"I was able to learn and grow. I traveled all over the world and have seen a lot of different places."

"The interview process in the Navy is solely based on how you score on a test and if the position you are trying to get into is open at the time in the Navy."

What don't you like about working at United States Navy?

"It took me away from my family for more than 200 days out of the year when I was stationed on a ship."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"There are all different types of leaders. Everyone has their own way of doing things and the management is always changing in the Navy. That being said, every manager puts their own twist on how they think things should be ran."
