"Be prepared to go a bit slow. Technology use is not leading edge. Benefits are pretty good. Be ready for old school military, slow activity on decision making."

"My boss's boss is a micro manager, who doesn't foster a positive work environment. She makes decisions in a vacuum and seldom accepts new ideas from others. Working for the Gov't has it perks, but I'm missing working in the private sector. New technologies, job varieties, etc."

"I would spend more time listening, advising to each group."

"I was able to learn and grow. I traveled all over the world and have seen a lot of different places."

"The interview process in the Navy is solely based on how you score on a test and if the position you are trying to get into is open at the time in the Navy."

"It took me away from my family for more than 200 days out of the year when I was stationed on a ship."

"There are all different types of leaders. Everyone has their own way of doing things and the management is always changing in the Navy. That being said, every manager puts their own twist on how they think things should be ran."
