"Get in quick and try to rise fast, they tend to not keep older employees around too long."

"Regulations and red tape. It takes days just to get a hotel reservation or plane ticket. Need to get 3 quotes for everything, from staples all the way to large equipment purchases. Can make getting urgent equipment or travel arrangements difficult."

"Not just say that our people are the biggest asset, but prove it by not using only financial figures to determine an employees necessity."

"Working with my hands, the people I work with, the pay, and it feels good to fix things."

"Tell them you are a hydraulics expert. Be prepared to work all kinds of hours."

"I loved my work. It's a great company and I enjoyed working on the equipment. I earned great vacation time as it accumulates per the hours worked."

"This is a great company to work for. If you're not planning on working in the Rock Springs WY location."

What don't you like about working at Schlumberger?

"The shop foreman and the team leads go out of their way to create a hostile work environment putting mechanic against mechanic. Its very stressful."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Change management. A complete overhaul is necessary. From team leads all the way to the top."

"Got to work with some great minds and would have to go travel around the world if things continued to work."

"If it is your only option go with it, but they are not very respectful to their employees and will dispose of you in a heartbeat to save a penny but waste money in other ways, which makes no sense."

What don't you like about working at Schlumberger?

"They gave me no notices for my projects, everything was very last minute and they did not seem to respect me as a valuable employee but just as a number."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"It is a global company but they are lacking the globalization at the management level. I would suggest to the management that they all read the book, The World is Flat, by Thomas Friedman."

"Training, travel, benefits, freedom out in the field. Technical, laptop."

"Ensure you get what you're told on PAPER before signing anything."

"Anonymity, difficulty to transfer, terrible communication, lack of compassion, high amounts of employees quit or get fired."
