"Schlumberger was the first company I worked for after graduating from college. For being the world's largest oil servicing company, the company managed to have a small business feel at times and was an overall fun experience."
"I worked in SLB for more than a year, and what they tell you aout "Work hard, play hard" is complete and absolutely true. I used to work on average 120 hours a week, staying up 28-30 hours. The money compensation corresponds to the amount of hours you're working. Definitely a completely work-oriented lifestyle. Depending on your professional and personal goals, this might be the best or worst fit for you."

One thing that I enjoyed about the company was how hard the people worked although this work seemed overwhelming. I did not like how there wasn't really that much of a work/life balance."

What don't you like about working at Schlumberger?
"The schedule is very hard because it is 12 days on and 2 days off. You are lucky if you get your 2 days off. The stress is terrible. A lot of it is because of management, but no one knows the rules but everyone expects you to follow them. The management here is very 2 faced and will do whatever they can to move up. They only care about work. They could care less about safety standards or people's well being. They also have canceled people's vacation because there is work that can be done. The job is stressful, dirty, physically demanding and requires long hours. It is doable with a supportive manager and crew."
