Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"They will have a very competent Lifer interview you and hire you. After you are hired, this Lifer will try to get the other Lifers to like you. When this does not happen they will express outrage and say they can do nothing. Your hiring Lifer and your friends will be sad when you are fired or forced to quit. Your replacements ( yes plural ) will take years to get to where you were when you were fired or forced out. This company (along with General Dynamics) is a waste of the tax payers money and should be investigated."
What don't you like about working at Raytheon?
"Nice people but there is a Lifer Company person vs Non-Lifer mentality about the place. This even permeates scientific technical work. The management which does have many PC slots is the most ignorant bunch except for General Dynamics. This bunch of clowns can be told something is the matter with a product and they will claim that their past work is infallible. Most famous case of this is the Patriot Missile System IFF radar that shot down US and British planes in April 2003. They had been warned as early as 1995 ( and maybe even before) of this possibility. Management not telling truth directly lead to the death of Naval Air Pilot Nathan White."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Most of the management needs a self examination with respect to their ethics handbook. Why were only the Engineers who predicted the April 2003 events fired before that date and not the culprits responsible for the events"
