"There is not motivation for moving up. Youre stuck in the same position with no where to go, no raises either."

"Being responsible for new customers, CRM, Marketing, advertising, accounting, etc can be too much for one person."

"Expand and hire more employees in order to alleviate the work load."

"I enjoy the type of work as well as the working with the people. There are some really interesting characters on post."

"I would recommend asking lots of questions about training and further developing their employees. See if they have any policies regarding education."

"The lull in work load. There are times when there just isn't anything to do and we are trying to come up with something to keep ourselves busy."

"There isn't much I can suggest to management. They do the best they can with what they are given."

"Work is split among groups of people who have the best qualifications and strong suit to get the job done."

"This group is ran by passionate and determined people. If you have no desire to work hard and push your limits this is not the job for you."

"Innovative research is constantly thinking of new ways to obtain information. Meaning our ideas are changed last minute or constrained to budget issues."

"The management is awesome. They are always keeping everyone, regardless of department, up to date."

"I can more or less set my own hours, and I have great freedom to manage my own accounts."

"This is a great company to hone your graphic skills. Being small, the employees here have to wear a lot of different hats."

"busy v.s. slow day would greatly vary. Especially towards the end of my employment."

"I phoned interviewed and just was really honest about my strengths and weaknesses. People like those who can show they are vulnerable and human."

"A little too big if you would like to get to know a lot of people on a real personal level. Some were just not accessible."

"Maybe some more inter company mingling so people really get the chance to meet one another."

"Find a different career or make sure to look after being hired."

"I dislike the lack of compensation, the lack of required tools needed for our work, the disrespectful CEO, the lack of opportunities to move up."

"Treat employees with more respect. Give compensation where deserved, work on moral."

"The people are friendly and try to have fun whenever possible."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Do not take the job unless there is a 401k match, or unless you are completely desperate for work. Also make sure they tell you completely about what your schedule will be before you accept the job, because you might end up working nights, weekend nights and holidays."
What don't you like about working at Dow Jones & Co.?
"The location of the office is remote and terrible, in a depressing and boring small town, more than an hour from major cities. The haven't been cost of living raises in years and there's no 401k match. The company needs to figure out how to survive, but the company culture is too resistant to change, although some people are trying to make it happen. Many of the people I work with don't even have smart phones, and this is a media company. Also, many of the shifts have terrible hours, nights, weekends and holidays, and there's no attempt to give extra compensation to those people or to make life tolerable."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Cost of living raises and 401k match, at least. Also, encourage a change in stagnant company culture and lack of experimentation. Either hire more people or reduce the product."

"I loved everything about the company. The clients the people I worked with, Everything"

"when it went out of business it was a huge heart break for me."

"I liked the creativity, the lifelong friends I've received, and the ability to be creative with childhood characters - a great time had by all."

"Draw, design and love what you do. These are the building blocks for success in the company."

"As with entertainment art, there was some micromanaging done, but nothing too severe."

"Let the artisans create unfettered, and they will produce art that will please the masses."

"Be prepared for high pressure turn around times. The Producers you do the work for may or may not appreciate your efforts."

"High stress environment. Extremely fast turn around of all projects."

"Back off some of the turn around time. Realize your graphics people work very hard to comply. Give them occasional props for the hard work."
