"The Daniel Cremiux area is wonderful, very upbeat merchandise. There are great customer contacts for the most part of the day. It is clean, classy, and professional, with day-to-day customer service challenges."

"Block out all negative when entering this job. You must be focused. Understanding your work environment is very important; it's not for everybody."

"They have a process they wish for you to follow at Dillard's, but they accept input."

"I like the great quality merchandise and the close management team (may be due to having to band together to survive)."

"Not really, as most managers don't know how to conduct an interview, so there is not any right answers."

"I don't like the pay cuts for hourly associates, and the good ole boy system inhibits promotions."

"Get rid of useless store managers at Dillard's."

"If you love sales, you'd love working for the company. Be professionally dressed, or at least the high end of business casual. Be polite, and be yourself."

"Nothing against Dillard's - I LOVE shopping there, but I'm just not a sales type person. I'm not going to force a sale to make a sale. I'm just not like that... too honest, I guess."

"Even though the job was not my cup of tea, the management really was quite good."

"My operations manager (Pam Mullis) was the most wonderful lady I've ever worked for/with. She encouraged my ideas for bettering my department's function in the store."

"Stay confident in yourself and your abilities during the interview process and while employed."

"My store manager was very close-minded. She said she wanted a change and closed the door on my ideas."

"Management at Dillard's should work as a team for the better of the store, instead of thinking of one's own personal and professional growth, and it will work out for the whole team. If not, there will be continuous contention in all stores and departments."

"I dislike over-allocation of associates to the floor, and management access to associates' sales figures on a performance (sales) related pay."

"Managers should be fair to associate targets in areas they are paid bonuses in associate achievements (specially newly appointed)."
