"I worked for Cisco Systems for almost 2 years and I find the experience very rewarding. I've learned a lot."
"I've worked at Cisco since 1998, have seen the ups and downs. Overall its a great company to work for. Still like most of the big companies, there are office politics you will need to deal with."
"Good company."
"This is a San Jose company, which is not bad."
"It's a great company to work for."
"I've worked for Cisco since 2007. I've found it to be a company that changes technical direction and lay off people that are in technologies that no longer seem "Hot" at that time. The company employs 70K+ employees and lays off 8 to 10K one day and hires 11K the very next. Employees are at the mercy of their relationships with mgmt. If mgmt does not like you, don't expect a raise, bonus or promotion. In fact if mgmt doesn't like you, you better update your resume and start looking for a new place because you will be laid off. A layoff at Cisco is their way of getting rid of people mgmt does not get along with, even if its because you didn't agree with the way a situation was handled."
"Worked for Cisco (TAC) for about 9 years. I love troubleshooting but it has become very political and cut-throat. The older, wise guys have been replaced by arrogant fresh-out-of-college kids, that have no clue, and it has become a challenge to get cases solved. I met guys that would re-arrange their lives for Cisco, and those are the ones that are now looking for a way out before another "limited restructuring" phase rolls along. Sad. I can only hope Cisco will reconsider and accept that cheap doesn't mean better."
"I have been working at Cisco for over 15 years (10 years as a full-time employee, and last 5 years as a contractor). It has been an enjoyable ride as I've been able to get experience in different areas including testing, customer support, and currently team leadership."
"Working there was ok."
"Good company to work for until their financial situation changed for the worse."
"Great company to work for. Employees are great people, salary is better than average, but it has become too big and requires new blood. Seems to be struggling to reinvent itself."
"Positive on the company, Working environment is good."
"Great place to work, would recommend this company for someone looking to get into software development."
"Great employer, however options to move up when established in a current position."
