"The American Red Cross is a non-profit organization attempting to run off a corporate structure. It isn't working very well to say the least. The workload is excessive as they do not have the money to hire adequate staff, yet there is a staggering lack of incentives for people to perform this stressful job. Management and upper management is compensated well, Lead tech's and especially tech II's who perform the bulk of the work are not. Cleveland for example pays lead technicians $15 hr."

"The fact that you are helping to get a product that a lot of people need to live. What a feeling to help others."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"You are never home. They don't care about you, your family, your feelings."

What don't you like about working at American Red Cross?

"They don't care about the employees or donors. They are in it for the money. Money is not that good. Management needs a major overhaul. The management they have can't run a company. The government should take over."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Get out. Let people who know what they are doing get in. That way it would be a wonderful company to be at. Like it used to be. We all work for the same thing, helping others. Have some pride in all that you stand for."
