"Focus upon the traits that are required for the job such as love of travel, interacting with others, a great interest in helping others to conduct their research, and your skills in problem solving, especially in regards to QPCR/Genomics applications."
What don't you like about working at Agilent Technologies?
"The management team in great need of restructuring. No support was given when needed and there was a lot of shifting the blame and responsibilities to lower level employees that were new to the company. Also, sales meetings also often infringed upon personal time (i.e. weekend/holidays)."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Regional and executive sales manager/directors often had big egos. Therefore, try to appeal to the sales manager of the region for which you are applying. Be sure to keep records of everything you do (including emails), as the sales managers often will forget things that they've previously told you."

"Vast array of job types that required observation and planning. Good safety team to work with - especially as a consultant. Multiple sites were required for service so the job never got boring."

"Ask about career advancement opportunities. What would it take to change or improve a certain policy. If cost savings mean reduce power and footprint in Asia operations (contract out to other companies) how do you get support."

"Career opportunity is disappearing fast for US employees. Most advancements are abroad. Top management are good in communication, however, you will not know when you will be on the chopping block. MBO and MBWA have left the culture and been replaced by MBE (manage by escalations - saving once behind). Arrogant in NPI, slow in making things happen, scar of outside the box in supply chain idea."

"They are busy making their golden parachute - the culture is lost."
