"I enjoyed the company culture. Virtually everyone I worked with was very good on a computer. Management allowed impromptu, hands-on learning as the opportunities arose. Ideas were embraced rather than rejected just because they were not part of a pre-determined schedule. This made me feel respected as a person. I like to be around people who look closely at ideas."

"A computer background seems to be an asset."

What don't you like about working at Agilent Technologies?

"There was nothing that I didn't like about working with these companies. I was sorry that my assignments were all temporary assignments."

"This was management that I could work for again. I was very happy with their openness to ideas."

"If you can stand the politics and the low regard for humanity, you can really do some high tech work there and get paid well for it."

"Be competent, be presentable, be honest, ask questions. For the most part, the people doing the hiring are trying to do the right thing. You will be judged on what you know and how you handle yourself under the pressure of an interview."

What don't you like about working at Agilent Technologies?

"At a high corporate level, I was just a number among hundreds of thousands of workers after we acquired EDS, and it was not a good career builder working in the Northeast. People in CA and TX had more growth potential."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"No. They are into the cut and slash mode and nothing long term works out with that, but they make a great little computer!"
