What do you like about working at YellowBook?

"."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Don't do it."

What don't you like about working at YellowBook?

"Not a lot of potential here unless you and your manager are socially, equally yoked. In my experience, several reps who were not the partying,-type were intentionally mislead, set up for failure and eventually driven out."

Media Consultant

"Good experience."

Outside Sales Representative

"Good company but alot of stress for the salesman"

What do you like about working at YellowBook?

"I liked the freedom of working outdoors and the chance to use my expertise in selling and closing a sale to the merchant. You also have a good potentional of earning alot of money . They also give you a car allowance which helps alot with the high cost of gas nowdays."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Negotiate on a higher starting salary. Make sure your in a more relaxed environment to work in. Don't expect to be there long. They let you go now with the new program within six months to a year unless your exceptional which is almost impossible in today's economy. Keep looking for another job while your there. This is good advice. This way when they let you go there's no down time for you."

What don't you like about working at YellowBook?

"I didn't like the micro management they recently started. Also many, many required meetings. With all the meetings you never really have enough time to sell. Your always looking at your watch for the afternoon meeting or always starting your day with a meeting that gets you started late. You make a basic salary which is needed because they waste your time going after collections for which you make nothing on. The opportunity of making real money is now gone since the internet. Most merchants don't feel the taking an ad in the book is worth it anymore since everyone uses the internet."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"I would tell them to only have one meeting a month. Give the salesman a chance to sell the product. The starting salary should be raised. Its too low for todays economy. Look into new ways of selling advertizing instead of the old yellowbook which is now outdated."

Senior Account Executive

"Off The Cuff"

What do you like about working at YellowBook?

"The money is good if you are willing to work. There is a lot of freedom because of the fact of no time clock and open terrritory to cover. Like owning your own business. I make my own success!"

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Not much at this moment. Other than you'll hear Good Luck many times in your career and... luck has very little to do with anything. Hard work, honesty and customer commitment will carry the day!"

What don't you like about working at YellowBook?

"The fact that I have no say in keeping accounts that I worked hard to initially get into our directories and worked hard to maintain as clients. Yellow Book has a policy now of X amount of $$$'s that we MUST get as increase (each year) to keep ABC company or XYZ company, etc. If one does not get that increase Yellow Book can give this account to another rep. They do not always do so...but recently they've done it more often. And just this next Ithaca campaign I lost an account that I took from $244 monthly (6 years ago) to now over $1500 monthly because my manager felt another rep could get more $$$ out of this account. Thus my application on line NOW! Plus all the hoops we now have to jump through. And about making my own success from above answer... It is now that I have to spend more time to do so. I think it's time for a change and a new challange. John Lennon said: Life is what happens while we are busy making other plans!"
