"Good company but alot of stress for the salesman"
What do you like about working at YellowBook?
"I liked the freedom of working outdoors and the chance to use my expertise in selling and closing a sale to the merchant. You also have a good potentional of earning alot of money . They also give you a car allowance which helps alot with the high cost of gas nowdays."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Negotiate on a higher starting salary. Make sure your in a more relaxed environment to work in. Don't expect to be there long. They let you go now with the new program within six months to a year unless your exceptional which is almost impossible in today's economy. Keep looking for another job while your there. This is good advice. This way when they let you go there's no down time for you."
What don't you like about working at YellowBook?
"I didn't like the micro management they recently started. Also many, many required meetings. With all the meetings you never really have enough time to sell. Your always looking at your watch for the afternoon meeting or always starting your day with a meeting that gets you started late. You make a basic salary which is needed because they waste your time going after collections for which you make nothing on. The opportunity of making real money is now gone since the internet. Most merchants don't feel the taking an ad in the book is worth it anymore since everyone uses the internet."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"I would tell them to only have one meeting a month. Give the salesman a chance to sell the product. The starting salary should be raised. Its too low for todays economy. Look into new ways of selling advertizing instead of the old yellowbook which is now outdated."
