"It is a tough company to work for. You get criticized by management."

"They keep pushing you to sell stuff to customers who don't need anything. They treat their employees badly and unfairly."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"The employees are working as hard as they can. Let the reps sell. It is tough to sell cell service and add on features to customers who don't need it. Also, in training you train us to sell with integrity, but when we get in the stores you tell us differently."

"Don't believe the promises that they tell you when you are hired. It takes a long time to move up in the company."
What don't you like about working at Verizon Wireless?
"At the retail level its very micromanaged, and in the current economy the sales goals are unrealistic. The commission dollars are impossible to make. Verizon promotes by sales, not by education."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Forecast sales for the current economic conditions, not on what happened two years ago. Track traffic and hire more customer service reps for a store that is at least 70% customer service. Get rid of the score sheets and commissions and pay straight salaries with bonuses or other incentives for sales."
