"Don't lose sight of the spirit of the Navy that existed when you joined. Look below the surface of tradition and see the other benefits that were gained, instead of simply doing away with or altering things that no longer seem to meet their stated purpose."

"Long hours every day, and if you are good you would get more and more responsibilities. They would use you as long you keep breathing."

"The Navy taught me a lot about what I know now. It's a challenging place for the first few years but after it slows down because you feel as if you are too far ahead and the Navy is trying to catch up to you."

"Deployment, it's probably one of the most difficult issues to deal with because you know you will miss birthdays, anniversaries, and holidays with your loved ones."
