What do you like about working at Time Warner?

"The talented people all around me. They are some of the best in the business, but senior management needs to take a reality pill."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Don't go there unless you're desperate and need benefits. You do get reduced cable/high sped internet. The salary is below way below $30k but that was the lowest option on the previous page. Use them like they're going to use you. If you're a superstar rock out the first two years then move on to a new company, because they'll just keep lowering your commission every year, year after year after year and double your budget. Great for TW terrible for the employee."

What don't you like about working at Time Warner?

"The upper management has no idea how to treat employees and not just give themselves a raise. Always changing things so much you can't keep up. Too many products to sell and not enough money. Too much stress."

"Decreasing pay annually way below avg. Sales & staff severely underappreciated."

What do you like about working at Time Warner?

"A lot of experienced support and sales people do work at this company and the offices are nice. In house production is convenient but they're way overworked."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"If you're looking for a big company to put on your resume and just want to get experience and/or really just need benefits then this company is for you. The support people and other reps are nice but, when your office isn't at budget the LSM's breathe down your back daily - ruling by fear. There's way too much reporting, paperwork and meetings for the money. Constant training to learn the crapload of new products being introduced. Confusing to the clients who just want TV ads and that's it. They don't have wage adjustments for those working in more expensive environments like NY, LA, either. Don't believe the BS about how much money you can make - only a select few are making over $100 per year out of the whole company. They want you to sell products that are new and they haven't even been proven to work. A lot of the new products frankly just don't work but you have to sell all the products each one has a budget. There are so many cable networks that unless an advertiser is spending over $10-20k per month they don't see any results. The company has no ROI information for clients at all so be prepared to avoid that question. I guarantee the great reviews you've seen on this site are submitted by upper mgmt to make TW look good."

What don't you like about working at Time Warner?

"The base is way below industry standards... around $20,000-22,000 per year for advertising sales. The commissions now are varied. Each rep is paid different - we still haven't figured out how they determine the rate on each individual. Anywhere from 5.5-7.2%. As your budget increases your commission is lowered."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Pay your reps a least the industry average wage which is $40k-$50k base, and raise the commission to at least 10-15%!!! Quit the fear/scare tactic when it comes to motivating sales people, it's counterproductive. Losing a lot of subs to competitors-perhaps you should concentrate on that."

What don't you like about working at Time Warner?

"Everyone has their moments with a disagreement, but overall the company was great to work for."

Business Project Manager

"Not so hot - Time Warner."

What do you like about working at Time Warner?

"Partially free cable. Now have to pay considerably more as an employee who needs to know the products being deployed for customers."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Do your homework on what interests you and your goals, just be yourself. Interview them and their accepted business practices. Be frank and deliberate. Take good notes and know what you're getting into. Negotiate hard for a better salary and benefits. Don't expect to get vacation for quite a while. Expect to see many colleagues let go on a regular basis due to reorganizations and performance deficiencies. They are not an honorable company in my opinion and will backstab you in a heartbeat."

What don't you like about working at Time Warner?

"Not a good company to work at if you like any organization or standards. Understaffed in critical areas resulting in overworking of some groups while others have plenty of manpower. They change standards all the time and do not provide enough training in front of a deployment of any application. Spend a lot of time working in multiple applications duplicating efforts, which slows performance and efficiency. NOT a reliable and long term opportunity as a career unless you are a warmonger and do not hesitate stepping on people to look good. I wasted 3.5 years there with lots of promises of it getting better but never did until the day I left."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Reduce clutter of multiple applications. Stop sales from making promises that cannot be delivered without a miracle. Set realistic financial goals that do not result in personnel getting let go or disciplined, tarnishing their reputations. Make employees happy to come to work, not dread it."
