"I started with StateFarm in 2011. The company used to be a very fun place to work. But recently the company has become a major numbers place. If your numbers aren't good enough you get fired. They are trying to cut costs but it is affecting company morale all over the enterprise."

What do you like about working at State Farm Insurance?

"I enjoyed working with agents and staff to achieve a positive financial vision. I enjoyed reviewing and researching properties."

What don't you like about working at State Farm Insurance?

"Perhaps one of the biggest distractions was the constant bickering on standard operating procedures. Regardless of managerial direction, it seemed there was at least one individual that refused to comply with the directive requiring inefficient meetings to review procedures again."

"Take firm managerial stands and lay out precise measurements and deliverables."

"I like the steady paycheck, easy flexible schedule, helping others, and using my communicative skills."

"This is not an innovative company. They are very cautious about the choices they make in the business world. Be careful what department you choose to work in. Plan on being micromanaged."

"There is no creativity. I have very little choices as to where to go from here. There is little job satisfaction."

"I would suggest more positive reinforcement, less criticism, more one-on-one coaching, less nit-picking, more collaboration, time to communicate face-to-face, and less conference calls that go nowhere."

"Be prepared to relate actual professional experiences that describe workplace competencies. Hone your descriptions to subject, action, result. Practice out loud. Prepare a graceful introduction and final comment. Research the company. Be prepared for the possibility that you may have to interview multiple times for multiple jobs.
