"I am a Technology Geek to the core. I live and breathe this stuff. I take every opportunity I can to learn and grow. All I can say to anyone looking to go this route is: if you are not willing to constantly learn to better yourself, diversify and grow, this line of work may not be a good fit for you. If you are willing to look at challenges in the face, stare them down and take them head on, you're in for a fun ride!"

Senior Systems Engineer at NJVC
in Saint Louis, MO

What do you like about working at NJVC?

"Good vacation day accrual. There are plenty of opportunities to advance."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"As with any interview: Own it and be confident without being arrogant or boastful."

What don't you like about working at NJVC?

"NJVC management has a thin outer layer of talent. This talent possesses (and clings onto for dear life) the bulk of the knowledge within the company. The vast majority of the remaining workforce is filled with warm bodies that have pulses. This is most evident in the remainder of the management (the bottom 95%). Sometimes it feels as though Corporate, in an attempt to save money, successfully cloned Bill Lumbergh. As demonstrated in the movie Multiplicity however, the creation of a copy of copy, a copy of a copy of a copy, and so on yields results that continually trend downward..."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Patch the hemorrhage that consistently causes duplication of work of a massive scale and gain a multitude of efficiencies in the process."

Senior Systems Engineer at Ideal Innovations
in Reston, VA

Please give us a one liner to describe this review.

"I can say without hesitation this firm was the worst employer I've ever had."

What do you like about working at Ideal Innovations?

"Honestly, nothing. Their checks never bounced, and that's about the best thing I can say about them."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Don't sign anything. Run, don't walk, to the nearest exit and don't look back."

What don't you like about working at Ideal Innovations?

"1. When I was hired they sent me an employment contract that was so Draconian that I paid an attorney to review it. The attorney was adamant: Don't sign. I didn't! (and I'm glad for that).2. The simple act of moving a security clearance to the client's contract completely stymied the management for three weeks. After two weeks on overhead while they fumbled and bumbled, they actually put me on unpaid leave of absence for a week!3. At every other place I've worked the first line manager took me to lunch on the first day. At this schlock outfit the manager said, there's a couple of diners across the street, as he retreated to his office with his Coke and peanut butter sandwich.4. They bungled the contract on which they were sub and made no preparations for a soft landing. They terminated my employment the same day the Gov terminated the contract.5. Not once during the contract did anyone from the firm contact me to inquire about additional business opportunities with the client."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Get out of the way and let someone with management skills run the place."
