"I love the hands on with the end users and the ability to make a difference in the company. Long travel days, some of my sites are over 4 hours away."
"Nothing, I love my job very much."
"I love the fact that you can nurture young engineers, as well as being expected to search for new technologies that can be used to test the corporation product(s)."
"Hate the parking lots. Diverse opportunities are nice, pay is good."
"I started IT when I enlisted in the Marine Corps in 2005 and I haven't looked back since. It's been a very hard learning experience but it has truly paid off."
"I enjoyed the independence and ability to work on a wide variety of systems. I loved passing on my knowledge to others. I hated when I was not provided goals or targets."
"This line of work is always challenging and ultimately rewarding. Successful projects require that we remain current with the ever-changing technology, which requires constant research and self-study in order to stay ahead of the competition. The only downside In a consulting role, is that a great deal of time is spent on the road travelling between clients. This is tedious and non-productive time. I would prefer to work as a permanent employee rather than as a consultant to many clients."
"I love it. It's very satisfying. Troubleshooting is my thing."
"I am a computer geek, always have been. I get paid well to do what I absolutely love to do. My job is always challenging me to learn new skills and improve the ones I already have."
"Government contracts that re-compete every year - this is not only the most naive and wasteful of practices of tax payer monies, but destroys the synergy and corporate knowledge in a program.Unless the Contracts Officer or Program Manager were Engineers, the damage in terms of system performance, cost and schedule escapes them in the pretense of saving capital.Impacts to the national engineering work force these past 5 years has been extremely damaging putting careers & families at risk."

What do you like about working at Aviall Services?
"Company used to have a good name, and the long-time employees (10+ yrs) are mostly very competent, down to earth, and have a sense of family and dedication to the company."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Go elsewhere. This place is on the skids. Wait until current management is expelled and the company starts moving back up."
What don't you like about working at Aviall Services?
"Newish senior management, garnered from Raytheon, including the new CEO, CIO, and several directors, all came to Aviall as cronies of the new CEO. The culture now is that if you don't rubber stamp the ideas of the CEO, his cronies, or others, you are out, as in laid off, org'd out, or flat out fired. It has turned into an awful place to work. So much so, that the previous CEO and CFO both left the company within the last two months, and now the current management is making false, derogatory accusations about the reasons for their departure. Bottom line is that they did not agree with the very poor direction from above, or that the company is now laying off people, when it has never done so before, and revenues are at their highest point...EVER. Awful company to work for now."
What suggestions do you have for management?

What do you like about working at NYK Logistics?
"I like the flexible start times, hours and option to work from home at times."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"The company has some strict ethics on personal accountability. From day one, it was made clear that failing to admit an error was grounds for dismissal. So, if interviewing be sure to be honest with your resume and what you say you can do."
What don't you like about working at NYK Logistics?
"Unfortunately, the real decision makers within the company are in the Dev Environment in NJ -- and our office is in Seattle, supporting the production data center. This results in demands being pushed from those in NJ, without considering the impact on the production servers due to their inexperience with supporting a production environment."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"They should have the dev teams work more closely with those supporting the production environment, to reduce risks when changes are deployed. Not having identical configurations in Dev, compared to Production is only hurting them in the long run."
