"The company closed and merged with the May company which was sad. Doing inventory until 3 a.m. was the only bad point."

"I would advise people interviewing with DKNY to be honest, willing to work hard and to build positive relationships with the managers and other sales associates."
What don't you like about working at Liz Claiborne?
"Although I am a great salesman, I really didn't go back to school to sell clothes. With my limited amount of experience it's been difficult to find opportunity in my desired field."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"The managerial team is great at DKNY. They are encouraging, flexible and have set me up for success. I respect all of my managers and have learned things from them that have helped benefit me in my personal life."

What do you like about working at The Container Store?
"The company philosophy, given the ability to use my experience and make decisions. Fantastic work environment, working with great people. Great management, wonderful customers. This company loves their employees; they walk the talk."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"I feel as if it is an elite group, which is a good thing. They only hire the best of the best when it comes to personality, work ethic, honesty, customer service, and wanting to give your best. If you fit this model, don't give up if not hired the first time."
What don't you like about working at The Container Store?
"Wish there were more hours available to work; takes a long time to become full time."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Please don't ever change the business model you have now, under any circumstances. It works for the customers, employees, etc. Wish there were more hours available to help make a living wage, or at least get by."
What do you like about working at rue21?
"I love working with people. I've enjoyed gaining my communications skills and my customer service skills. Overall, I just enjoy the atmosphere."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Show that you have a bubbly personality. If you don't then fake it to you make it. Keep a smile on your face and show them that you are customer focused only. Basically, having an outgoing personality and answering the questions correctly will get you the job."
What don't you like about working at rue21?
"Being lost at my job is not a feeling I enjoy. The managers are not in sync with each other and when they aren't in sync then my co-workers aren't in sync. Its not as comfortable. We don't bond like we should. The pay is for high school students only. I don't get a raise until 1 year of service. I understand that, but less than a quarter raise"
What suggestions do you have for management?
"I would have better communication skill with my employees. I would make sure who I hire is the right fit for my company."
What do you like about working at Nordstrom?
"I like my coworkers, the product, taking care of the customers, benefits, and creativity."

"Be big! Show a lot of personality. If you want to make the big bucks, work in shoes."
What don't you like about working at Nordstrom?
"In my experience, when someone has a preconceived notion about you, it never goes away, even if others see you in a positive light. I'm sure this is true in many businesses. It's just a little harder when so many companies' leaders are women. Women have had such a hard time getting ahead in their careers, that they look at every woman as a competitor."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"I think some of the upper level management still don't connect with the sales force on the floor. They speak the inverted pyramid, but don't reach out enough to learn what the customer really needs."

"Great opportunities to move up, competitive pay. Has fun events for the regions, competitions that encourage growth"

"Go for a large, successful property. A losing property is seen as a dead end zone, and you will not get the necessary support to make it successful."
What don't you like about working at Alliance Residential Co.?
"No structure, almost imposible to figure things out on your own, and I've never been able to get help dealing with our own website!! Plus, they promote weak managers that the region directers can control as Yes Men"
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Communication, communication, communication!! I work when he is off, and visa versa but there is little direct communication, no follow-up and it feels like we are falling further and further behind. If I had his job I would give better notes, follow up during the off time, complete task and not leave things left undone."

"I like working with people, learning new things, and teaching people what I know."

"Pursue every possible advantage and benefits that you can get from Home Depot, because it is rare that they will tell you what they are and how to get them."

"The associates are becoming mistreated, so they tend to mistreat customers. Beatings will continue until morale improves."

"I would take care of those who work for me better because they, in turn, would treat customers better."

"I liked working in the fashion field. Also working with clientele form all over the world. People love quality of the brand."

"To only apply if you're looking for a part time job or if you don't mind making 20K+ a year."

"The hours are challenging. Because its retail and most clientele would come on weekends I wasn't available weekends."

"I ended up getting laid-off due to locations purposes. I would have planned a back up to re-locate the store avoiding employee lay offs."

"I enjoy my co-workers, and getting the chance to help people."

"Make sure you'll be able to afford working here. I enjoy the work but 9.00 an hour is not sufficient enough to make a living!"

"Get rid of the people that aren't doing their job, have employee meetings to discuss the store and how things need to be done and so forth."

"well my managers are reluctant to move associates to higher ranks. they make you jump through fiery hoops in order to take a take to be considered for a promotion."

"everything. I would change some of the rules and regulations that they have. some are just to unnecessary."

"Very friendly people with great support to their agents. Comfortable office which presents well to clients"

"Commission only sales and the market is slow. A roller coaster of up and down months."
