"It's a great product and company with a great vision for families worldwide."

"Need to be a self starter and have a home office! Also, knowing a lot of people/business owners around the area helps, otherwise I hope you like cold calling and knocking on doors."

"That it is an independent contract position and that I work from home. I prefer more structure and having a place to organize my workload besides my kitchen table."

"I wish they were more strict. That they gave you more of an idea what to do other than just letting you go out there on your own."

"I didn't care for the hours worked. I was always working weekends."

"I really don't have any suggestions for management. I never had a problem with them."

"It was intellectually stimulating and allowed me to work on a variety of different projects while building and maintaining relationships with customers, authors and co-workers."

"Keep an open mind and be willing to work on a variety of things. A small company like Lyceum does not have a lot of other things for you to do."
What don't you like about working at Lyceum Books?
"It was a small office environment, and often times the work was overbearing because there were not a lot of us on particular projects."

"I would suggest adding one or two people per department (in marketing and editorial) to help with the workload, if not only on a part-time basis."

"This was a new area for me. What I enjoyed most was the opportunity to learn."

"Just be honest during the interview. This is a contract position. Let them know what you need up front for development and growth."

"Field support was fairly weak. The turnover of field team leads made it hard to receive proper training."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Establish a trainer for the respective sales area to support new sales associates."
What do you like about working at PUMA?
"Allotment is always nice. The additional discount on clothes and shoes is another perk. There are new stores opening up, but it seems like a supervisor position is never available."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"dont go dressed formally, the company is relaxed in atmosphere, be prepared for many Portuguese tourists.... and your managers expect a lot, even if you are the only one on register- you still must make 500$ in sales by yourself ALONE."
What don't you like about working at PUMA?
"the supervisors rarely do anything, and usually spend their time commanding and never make sales. i've personally spotted managers speaking on phones reserved for the business with no disciplinary action taken and finally the work is incredibly reppitive and gets old quickly"

"Ensure promotions are given to people who deserve it, change the loyalty gathering process, and make sure all higher ups work in teh field so they can know what works in reality and what does not."

"Ability to train constantly and learn new skills. Developed many good sales skills as well."

"Make sure you have another job to cover your bills while only getting PT work."

"It's very hard to get full time status and the pay is less than $10/hr."

"I would bring back commissioned sales on non-product sales, i.e., service plans, etc."

"new job, not sure yet. Its a temp job until I find something better."

"Hard to get full time work, low pay. Far from my home."

"Was fun for a while then it turned into a soap opera"
What do you like about working at Walmart?
"Made friends with a few people and it was always a fun time working with them. There was a period where we could always joke and have fun while working. I had a manager in my back pocket so I always had someone protecting me. No I wasn't an ass kisser the manager just liked me cause I'm a stand up person."

"work here only if you HAVE too, don't sell yourself short"
What don't you like about working at Walmart?
"Your start to see your co-workers true colors after a few months. It seemed like a never ending soap opera with the cashiers. Between all my co-workers there was ALWAYS talking behind each others backs. People will backstab you and step all over you to get ahead and look good. Managers rarely commented on my work performance. For a week I worked 16 hour days and sacrificed time in school but nothing good ever came about (no promotion, no thank yous, etc.)"

"Grow the hell up and act like an authority figure."
