"Showing your enthusiasm and outgoing personality will help the employer believe you can handle the customers. Nordstrom emphasizes exceptional customer service."

"There is no guarantee for the amount on the paycheck, which could lead to concerns for living."

"More patience from the manager will help with a beginner, because there is a lot of information at the beginning."

"I really liked the people that I worked with, including my manager. However, the owners could not care less about you or anyone else that works for them."

"The owners care about the money. The act like they care about their workers and customers, when that is only half true."

"My only advice would be to be true to your beliefs. If one is to fabricate a belief and land a job it is sure to be a short term postion."

"No room for advancement, family owned business and all the top tier postions are held by family members."

"Need to get all managers on the same page and create a complete unit that believes in each other. Individual departments work well within themselves, but they lack understanding about the other departments."

"The environment at work is profound, with great people and great customers. They sell decent products and have extensive sales training that works."

"Personal feeling shouldn't have anything to do with business decisions."

"I enjoy interacting with some of my fellow associates who are quite interesting and cool people. I also enjoy selling (I work on commission), but only in the fact that I'm making more money, and I feel like I'm earning that money with hard work and smarts. I kind of feel like my own boss some days, and I enjoy that."

"You're there to get a job where they could care less about you and your future. Just know what they need to fill that role and be that."
What don't you like about working at Sears?
"I do not enjoy low pay. I feel like I put a lot of work into what I do at Sears, and there is not a ton of reward sometimes. I also feel like I am not moving anywhere (which I am not), so that is depressing."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"I would promote a more long-term employee kind of thing. Currently, Sears seems to be extremely self-serving, and selfish. My interests don't seem to be their problem in the slightest."

"Sometimes the shopping carts would be in short supply and customers lashed out against employees."

"No complains, but if I had to pick on something it would be on raises"

"The help from managers and coworkers if you didn't understand something. They also had lots of incentives for their employees."

"Stay calm. Be honest. Only tell what they ask you. No more. No less."
What don't you like about working at Macy's?
"The point system that they have. The fact that you are NOT allowed to stand at the register and wait for customers. You MUST walk around your work area. It's an inconvenience because customers SHOULDN'T have to come and search for you when they are ready to check out."

"Not put people on a point system to the same degree that they have now."
