What do you like about working at Gulf Coast Medical Center?
"Regular Pay and Hours. Wide variety of patient care needs. Opportunities to work with students and preceptor new nurses. Teaching families and learning from famililies."

"Their hiring process is quick and very effective. Orientation is a very thorough process; take notes."
What don't you like about working at Gulf Coast Medical Center?
"Simply put, Politics. Difficulty in finding equipment that isn't over budget. Staffing was generally lower than necessary. Difficult to express frustration without retaliation."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Please find a better way to listen to all of your employees in a confidential manner."

"Coworkers are usually supportive and share work load, also good schedule"

"Be wary of the limits with the insurance and make sure you find out all the technicalities about your salary, holiday pay, vacation, etc."

"Coworkers talk too much behind each others backs, complain about things that don't really matter"

"If I was the direct manager I would be a little more organized"

"I like most of my co workers. I like teaching the patients and the nurses. I like helping."

"Try the best you can every day. Don't ever talk about anything personal at work."

"There is a lot of petty name calling, talking about people behind their back. Not a clear defination of what your postition is and when you are working on a project it can be taken from you and some else will get the credit."

"I would try and Higher more employees, open new wings of the hospital for a more specialized med/surg area. Remodel the 4 bed rooms into one bed rooms for privacy and infection issues for the patients."

"The people that I work with the equipment is up to date"

"pay is really low for nationwide and paperwork is to much. Computer program is a joke"

"More ancillary help for the nursing staff. Paid education time"
What do you like about working at Aseracare Hospice?
"The patients and coworkers. Making a difference. Prior mgmt was great and experienced. Being able to influence all aspects of patients care."

"Stay away until corporate realizes and wakes up! Easy to get hired only looking for warm bodies. You don't have to know a thing about hospice or meds used as the less you know the less threat you are."
What don't you like about working at Aseracare Hospice?
"Lies, deceit, forgery. Mgmt segueing like children. Hostile environment. No support or recognition for quality care. They hire with no exp so they can manipulate them and coerce them."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Listen and learn. Put some clothes on. Put patients first. Stand up for employees in the right. Learn what hospice is. It's NOT home health!"
What do you like about working at Saint Clare's Hospital?
"Good support from co-workers and good relationship with hospitalist physicians and attending physicians."

"Think of this only as a temporary work environment, unless the culture of the organization changes for the better."
What don't you like about working at Saint Clare's Hospital?
"The ER Director and Manager are impersonal and insensitive to the staff. As in all the hospital ER's in the area, the police use the ER as a dumping ground for drunks and out-of-control people instead of leaving them on the street or putting them in jail."

"Institute a We're Family environment instead of the current You Work for Me, Do What I Tell You environment."

"Lack of raises and increase in work load without the resources to aid in the increase."

"Work the floor to better understand your employees and what they are experiencing to improve moral."

"It fit my prior work experience. I was able to settle into a routine rather quickly."

"Be prepared. Knowledge and self sufficiency are key. Keep your home life very private."

"Met with opposition regarding patient education and self empowerment. Met with opposition from staff to change or improve ways of caring for your patients."

"Training opportunities are limited. Need to change with the times and become more patient advocate oriented."

What do you like about working at Regional Medical Center?
"I am very happy at LRMC. I am switching out of nursing back into a technical professional position that combines my experience as computer programmer/analyst, teacher, and nurse."

"It's a great hospital. A great employee will just need to be themselves and be professional during the interview."
What don't you like about working at Regional Medical Center?
"LRMC is a great place to work, and I choose to work there for that reason. I commute an hour each way, so that indicates the job is worth the commute."

"I think my management team is doing a great job."

"It was close to home and the employee benefits were good."

"If looking for enjoyable full time employment I would not suggest this establishment."

"Backbiting, short staffed, poor orientation, out of date facility and procedures"

"increase orientation time, increase staff, bring charting and medication administration up to date."

"You'll love the city, with warm weather and a great climate but you can't count on looking forward to work everyday"

"There is no real reason to work here. There is no opportunity for growth, or movement within the company. It is just do what we say, when we say to do it."

"I would become more employee focused, and perhaps give back to the employee's instead of taking bonus'"

"I like the technology and science aspect of healthcare. I like the constant introduction of new information."

"Decide which aspects of your job are important to you and make sure you will be getting them from this job."

"Being treated like I am stupid. Not being given enough challenges. Passive-aggressive colleagues."

"I would give the staff more of a say in their own work environment."
What do you like about working at University of Virginia?
"We are behind the times; we don't have the best resources available to take care of our patients. There is very little collaboration between the doctors on different services."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Be patient, don't let the little things get you down. Learn as much as you can here, but realize that not everything is done perfectly at UVA and when you leave you will have to forget the UVA way."
What don't you like about working at University of Virginia?
"Compensation is not competitive with similar institutions and jobs. Physicians are not extremely receptive of help. Nurses are not always given the respect by the physicians."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Place a bigger emphasis on the employees; we are always told we have to do better, but we are not compensated correctly. We lack the resources we need and even if suggestions are made those resources are still lacking. I have never seen the CEO since orientation."
