"Don't expect a lot of growth or accommodation. It does not pay well if you're working at the front desk."
What don't you like about working at LA Fitness?
"My boss doesn't do her job, so I have to pick up the slack. She gets paid substantially more than I do, but I do most of her work as well as mine, without the pay. I make minimum wage plus commission, but that isn't enough for me to support myself. I have no problem helping other people if they need me to, but I dislike getting dumped on by my boss when she decides she doesn't feel like coming in to work or helping a customer."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"I'd make sure our customers' needs were met immediately. Most of the time people are given the run-around, and I don't like that at all. Our staff should be more helpful and more accommodating."

"Be honest, if they say no, keep going, let nothing deter you from achieving whatever goals you have set for yourself, it is your dream, go get it."

"Credit was never given to the little people on the totem pole."

"Listen to your workers, everyone has an opinion and yours may not be the only solution. Be open and accepting to change, and always be open and honest with the people who are there helping you to look good."

"No chances of being a full-time employee, as Dell Perot, their IT provider, wasn't hiring."

"Rely less on contractors, and hire more local IT as full times, so that employees have more company spirit."

"The camaraderie, the get it done atmosphere, and high standards. I also like that the Air Force genuinely tries continuously to make life better for its people."

"Be sure to do it for the right reasons (i.e., you feel like there's a job in it that you'd like to do) and take the good with the bad. Your outlook changes from assignment to assignment--but it is all temporary. Usually no more than 4 or 5 years unless you want it to be."

"Too much pressure. Everything seems to be urgent--and the unpredictable nature of contingency operations makes planning free time difficult."

"Focus on helping provide an atmosphere of balance for folks in the AF."
