"Great at first, employees working with are great at first... but human resources and management staff will start pestering you, obviously concerned with their "bottom line". Very short-term thinking. When I joined a couple years ago, was much better."
"Low pay, terrible clients."
"I would scan lease documents and handle rent checks/deposits/late notices with each customer. I had a better understanding of how the process worked when leasing out office building and or apartment complex to a tenant(s) as each individual person would come in and explain why they were there. Interacting with customers was enjoyable because they would come in and of course, I would strike up a conversation while waiting to be helped."
"I like to work with people hands on. So being the office assistant gave me the opportunity to work in all parts of the busy environment. I had an input in everything, I was able to work in a group or on my own, depending the project at hand at the time."
"I love brightening up people's day when I answered the phone, and actually working with my co-workers."
"What I love: easy, relaxing, not having to deal with customers, and was close to where I lived. What I hated: boring."
"I was able to help students continue their education. That is rewarding in itself. I enjoyed being a point of contact for incoming students. I did not like the repetitiveness of answering the same questions over and over; however, it was not that bad."
"It is hard in these days but the payment is not bad for a student."
"The experience helped my to adapt well to working in an American work environment."
"I'm a perfectionist so everything must be clean. I don't hate this job because it works around my schedule."
"I want to work in the field of electrical engineering."
"Working at that place is not much I can do for them, but print and organize merchandise and also do some typing."
"Nothing at all. I love working as an office assistant."
"I love helping customers and the fact that I can sometimes make their day a whole lot better. I hate how much work you have to do with not enough help. Someone who isn't good at multi-tasking would not do well in this job. Customers can be extremely rude and that adds on stress. Office Assistants have to be very patient."
