"Work in software engineering in etrade, you will have exposure to all aspect in web application development. It is a good place to learn. The work /lift balance is not as friendly as people expected sometimes. Management tends to micro-manage and play favors."

The business leaders do not have or project a clear objective - too many organizational changes have taken place in 2013, hopefully things will stabilize.The other main observation is E*Trade the company culture does not enable them to change roles easily, or move up. You can stay in the same role for years by being average, you may not get much by being exceptional.The work-family balance is good."

"People interviewing at E*TRADE can expect lower base salaries than they may see other places however E*TRADE does pay bonuses every year."

"There are limited career opportunities due to industry headwinds, not really due to the company itself."

"The management needs to be less conservative. Deliberate decision making is fine in some environments but at its core, E*TRADE is a technology company with a significant web property more than it is a brokerage firm."
