"I've worked for Morgan Stanley for almost 2 years now, having started while still enrolled at Cal State Long Beach as an Intern. Through the internship program, I was selected to be promoted where I moved up to a role as Client Service Associate where I was selected to start studying to become an advisor at a later date. Currently, I am learning the business where I am constantly receiving coaching and carrying out the daily tasks an advisor would do, minus meetings until I pass all of my Security tests and become a registered Associate. Our team provides a lot of coaching which has not only gotten me prepared for a role as an advisor but also given me the ability to leverage this in other roles if I see fit. The team has given me the tools needed to succeed in the industry and also been a big support for me as I am constantly learning more and more about both the financial and business world."

What do you like about working at Morgan Stanley?

"It is good pay for not too much of a workload."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"If you are content with the job you are applying for, then proceed. If you have aspirations of moving up in the company, you should go look elsewhere."

What don't you like about working at Morgan Stanley?

"If you are in a support department, you will never get the recognition you might get elsewhere."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Reward everyone with better salaries, even in support positions that might be the company stars."

"Very rough experience - the manager was corrupt (was eventually terminated), and the dot-com bust was in free-fall."

"The training they offered was good and prepared me to handle a variety of business needs."

What don't you like about working at Morgan Stanley?

"Their work environment was too stressful. There was less of an emphasis placed on helping people and businesses and more on selling proprietary products which may not have been suitable for what the client was looking for."

"Develop a culture that emphasizes clients first, conducive work environment second, and a financial reward structure that is not so top-heavy."
