"You've all heard of the brutal day-long interview process at companies like Microsoft and Google. Having been a part of the interview loop, I can tell you that it's all... true. It's very grueling and you need to be prepared."

"Career movement is limiting after a certain point - logjam in higher management levels."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Spin out R&D projects sooner. There are lots of very innovative things that people have created - they can be utilized in new products for consumers."

"Toward the end of my ten years there, the company became extremely conservative at the expense of freedom to innovate."

"Rekindle some of the original spirit of entrepreneurship that helped make the company a force to be reckoned with."

"The job description often asks or requires more than the job need. However, at the interviews, interviewers only ask things related to what their teams specifically do, or what I need to hire for. A lot of things you can learn when you're on the job."

"I don't like writing test cases, and test automation is no longer fitting my interests. I'd like designing, coding, analyzing bugs, and fixing code problems."

"I would suggest simplifying their communications, their doc instructions and internal documents so that people can find help doc quickly (like Google search)."

"It is a big company, with lots of customers worldwide, and very fast-paced and challenging work."

"My dislikes are: less time for family and personal development, and very hectic and reporting-oriented."

"I would suggest balance of risk, stability and innovation. Risk should be controlled, but over risk-management can increase cost and decrease innovation."
