"Macy's is currently struggling as a retail company because of the COVID 19 issues but in comparison to its competition, they are going to survive. The work environment is somewhat difficult because of the antiquated equipment due to years of deficient capital injection into the infrastructure but has been identified with the new management and are working to rectify. The work-life balance in Macy’s is pretty good and as a company is mindful of their employee's home life."

"Macy's doesn't care about their long time associates. I've been their for 10+ years they don't promote unless you are in their favor. They will overlook you. They want you to work three different jobs with the sane pay. You won't get a raise but they expect for you to do all of the work in a very unreasonable time of matter. Asking for help from HR goes unwarranted."

"I worked for Macy's for 3 years from 2011-2014. It was my first time working in a department store setting, I had always managed specialty retail stores. I learned a lot, but in a store that large and busy, there are a lot of missed opportunities for new managers. Also, in an organization that large there was always lots of wasted time for planning meetings and things that took time away from important things like customer service, staff training or visual merchandising."

"Make it known that you are dependable, you're not afraid of hard work."

"For me it was difficult managing two jobs, but overall I did like the company."

"That incentive works to keep employees motivated, and don't overwork your good employees, you will burn them out."

"Ignorant managers. Most of the managers must be people that can't make it at other companies. There was a handful that were management material but the rest shouldn't be allowed to supervise a ball of cotton."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Get training! Instead of preaching Outstanding. Can you say Professional? I worked in Human Resources for seven years at my full-time job. I have never seen so many laws being broken. Most of the employees didn't realize their rights were being violated. Too bad I didn't help start a class action law suit. I would be retired by age forty."
