"We were a small offsite project and the company, being so large never knew we existed. The site manager refused to let us know who the chain of command was offsite--very controlling--had a terrible temper--and it was not a great situation. She hired me at the very top of the range, and I didn't get a raise for 2 years--I thought there was something wrong with me, but it was just that there was so little communication. Everything depends on communication, and really, no one cared."

"Take an interest in the projects under you. Know the people. Care about them."

"In my job I was given a lot of freedom in how I executed plans and developed systems. I had root access to a few servers when I left and was able to do some amazing things with the local data and financial systems."

"Their HR department is okay at best (kept very loyal to corporate) and as a company run by engineers sometimes isn't able to think outside of the box very well or streamline processes enough."
