"Goodwill does amazing things for the community. As with any company there are better executives than other, better employees than others. But most everyone there has a heart for what they do. I worked for the Goodwill of Middle TN. They definitely had a heart for their community. Matt Glostner is a higher up in the company and has the biggest heart out of anyone I have ever worked with."

"To be frank, there are actually two company cultures at Goodwill; one for the retail side, and one for the corporate, or "mission" side. So, I'll preface this review by stressing that I've been engaged in the corporate side of Goodwill, so I can't speak with experience about the retail environment. To be expected, salaries are lower than they would be outside of a non-profit--this also means pretty weak health benefits. There was an overly-long time-lapse in hiring a new CEO, which has resulted in not-so-hot leadership. The company is very siloed, which is a shame because the employees within Goodwill are great people and a joy to work with on a daily basis. It's a great place if you're looking for terrific people to be in the trenches with--and a bad place if you're looking for career development, mentoring, or strong leadership."

Donations Coordinator

"Working as a donations coordinator for goodwill is an incredible experience. I've learned so much regarding the world of donations. My co-workers are highly helpful. I have nothing but great things to say about my current employer."

"Not an honest company to work with. Ongoing thievery of donated goods is not dealt with by managers. They're dishonest with employees about overtime time cut out. Any person there any time could see most profit goes to corp office as there income is available to find. Good nonprofit as they say to stay away from working or see donation profits line pockets very few"

"Do not work here. The job may seem fun exciting and interesting. All the fun things you can see and all the good prices. The pros are slim but here they are. 20% discount. Flexible schedule. Now the cons. -Minimum wage (no raises ever), the only way to receive a pay increase is by promoting up. Which is not much more money, the most known was a 1.00-2.00 pay increase. But could be more the higher up you get, which is not a simple goal to manage with this company. -You must wear a uniform shirt that you must purchase from the company. Costing anywhere from 7-12.00 a shirt! You can use them as a tax right-off but depending per state some places you cannot. - Anyone under supervisor level does not get full time. -They will schedule you minutes from being full time. Watch your time worked! If you for a reason miss a punch they will not pay you. If you worked in between locations they have been known not to pay for time worked at a location. -The jobs from front to back are unhealthy and unsafe! Many workers come into contact with materials from chemicals to bodily fluids daily with no proper training or safety gear to handle materials. Some items are infested with bugs from roaches to bed bugs but the company ignores any reports. -The company will limit supplies to a very minimal amount, leaving it difficult to complete some aspects of the job. When this happens the company will then write up or terminate anyone who didn't complete their job, regardless of the lack of materials and supplies needed. -The managers talk about employees to all other staff. No one's business, no matter how personal is any secret! -The managers are very unprofessional! They have ethical dysfunctions and when these managers are reported the company will not fire them, but move them along the chain in the company. Supporting work for bigots, thieves, racists, and so on. The list is so much longer. This company is a pocket lining business! They do not help anyone."

"Doesn't pay enough for what we put up with in the production room. New manager played favorites and gossiped too much. Ridiculous quotas to obtain, very dirty environment. Manager doesn't care if you are sick or have a family emergency to attend to. Got sick from sorting through dirty shoes and clothes all day. Never had a chance for advancement due to picking favorite employees. Felt stressed out from production manager and store manager."

"Working at Goodwill was great. Unfortunately the pay was not. I worked more than 40 hrs a week on call 7 days a week. I was driving to store locations and back to my office and with the pay low I was not always able to afford gas. The company is great and so are the co-workers but the pay is not. That's was the reason why I gave them 3 weeks notice when I found another job."

"It is a pretty good company. I do like the mission kind of. I am just not a person who buys second hand. I was alright with the manager but wouldn't hang out with him after work. The job did not allow me to use any of my skills. I can design websites that are functional. I tried to move up but it did not work, I was in school so it did not hurt me too much. I was able to keep up with bills and the team was great. It is a good job but I would have like to have been I n a higher position in a way."

"Goodwill Industries of Central Oklahoma is an innovative agency with big plans and a dynamic energy. It is part of a network of community-based agencies across North America. A not-for-profit organization, it is largely self-sufficient business model, is to sell donated goods in its retail thrift stores and use those profits to partially fund its employment services and training programs. This approach is unique among the community; but it is not a new approach."

"Goodwill Industries of Marion is a fantastic company, and has wonderful values. The CEO is a great person, and genuinely cares for his community. The people are great to work with, and the atmosphere in the office is relaxed, yet professional. The only downside to the company is pay rate for the amount of work you do. The budget does not allow for much in compensation."
