"It's a decent place to work, and should someone wish to start off it's fairly simple to work there. There are some up and downs to working there that you should be aware of first of all though. these include layoffs and high levels of politics being used. But everyone outside of management usually treats you like family."

"This is a tough place to work. Re-organizations are the norm, not the exception. There are multiple-layers of management -- VPs reporting to VPs reporting to VPs, etc. -- and that leads to decision paralysis. I work with one of top development teams in the company, however I do not feel the team is valued by upper management, though we have legions of fans elsewhere -- mainly because we are very responsive. I would think long and hard before taking an IT job here. I was warned and didn't listen. Benefits have been pared back. Retirement is a joke. No bonuses or raises or very little in 2015."

"public speaking, Microsoft applications, Adobe Frame, Be prepared to sell yourself and accomplishments at all times."

What don't you like about working at First Data?

"Management was complacent, I wasn't able to get time with my trainers in order to do my work and management was unable to support my request for more help. The infrastructure changed while employed, and my role was dependent on one person's vision. He left the department, and my responsibilities went with him. My new manager didn't know my role."

"Better structure so that everyone knows what the visionary position is defined and will continue with restructure."
