"Very strict attendance & scripting rules for work, pay is limited when I don't meet strict rules, having to work weekend days & holidays to make minimal pay, small desks, no natural light, sitting & not moving all day"

What do you like about working at First American Title?

"I loved being able to greet customers and help them with what they needed. I loved the other employees that I worked with. It was a usually fun environment. I loved seeing the faces of people that just signed the papers for their new house. They were so excited! I enjoy bringing some part of that to them."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Be prepared to learn and strive for the top. In this business you need to know what you are doing because it can effect many people and their lives."

What don't you like about working at First American Title?

"I did not like the way that my supervisor treated myself or the other employees. It was as if she was trying to make us feel horrible about everything we did. She would make fun of us and tease us through out the day and also in front of other clients. She was unprofessional."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"I would try to put my supervisor through some training classes to help her with her interaction with fellow employees. She definitely knew her job. She was a great escrow officer, just needed some help with how she treated people around her."

"The cuts and reductions required of our employees. This is an economical condition, not mangerial in nature."

"It has been the most frustrating experience I have ever had. I dont like a thing, Id look for something else but the economy is bad"

"This is a most conservative, not techology savy company. They invest their profits into top brass, if you can stand the inefficiency of the technology, and the stress of over work and under paid, go for it."

What don't you like about working at First American Title?

"Upper management , micro manages every aspect of the professionals here. The computer system is a full on Joke, FAST is anything but. If you did a time in motion study on it, the company is losing money since it goes down every 2 minutes and freezes. Management expecting the employee to work through breaks and lunches and they look the other way."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Dont entertain this industry! They over promise to clients and can not deliver. Therefore work the staff to death ."

"territory sales, very unrestricted in what we could and couldn't do to get the business."

"Management was out of California, we were given minimal training, no target list just a map and a company brochure."

"The team was excellent. The development processes were well structured and the intergroup communication processes were something to model."

"First American is a fortune 500 company, they are very impressive technologically, so you should put your best foot forward."

"As my first position out of college I didn't have much to say negatively about the work environment. The people were friendly and I didn't expect much but a lot was given."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"I think when managing people a relationship should be established in order to gain respect. When rules are enforced without the voice of the people, the people being managed will sometimes be resentful."

"I did not like that the opportunity for advancement was not easily attainable. Many promises of advancement are thrown out but not followed through."
