What do you like about working at WEG Industries?
"The Engineering staff, mostly from Brazil was exceptionally talented and always positive in their drive to serve the customer. The working environment offered great opportunity, training, and support."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Learn a little Portuguese and bring along a copy of FIFA's Rules of the Game (futbol).I say that only partially in jest, because learning about Brazil and the culture shows respect for this particular employer, and would go far towards getting you noticed. This is a company that schedules working shifts and time off for World Cup Soccer TV broadcast."
What don't you like about working at WEG Industries?
"My experience with WEG was totally positive and I can't say there was a single thing I didn't like about working there. The range of projects was always interesting, the deadlines were tight but realistic."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Re-open the Kansas City Office :-)Short of that, I'd love the opportunity to return to work someday for WEG."

"Management unable to admit typewriters were out and word processors held the future."

What do you like about working at Northrop Grumman?
"The day I arrived, I was asked to think of Mission Impossible. I was shunted from the job I had accepted and welcomed as the head of the operating system and database functions. I rose to the challenge and succeeded in getting a stable underpining for the project."

"Act like you don't care how your software will be used."
What don't you like about working at Northrop Grumman?
"I was assigned to the MIFIASS project that had been misconceived and poorly defined. The hardware requirements were preposterous and drove illogical operational functionality."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Listen to your systems engineers and evaluate the project before you allocate resources to an unworkable concept."

What do you like about working at Delphi Automotive?
"The paychecks don't bounce....yet. Pay is good if you've worked there for quite awhile but is declining rather than increasing."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Yes-- don't. You can't find a worse place to work. Wages and benefits are declining rapidly. Engineers are expected to work 50+ hours per week for declining pay in a dirty, polluted, run down environment that is awful compared to Saginaw's third-world operations."
What don't you like about working at Delphi Automotive?
"It's a dirty, worn out rust belt factory with polluted air and people's desks shoved in hallways. The management is brain dead and makes the same mistakes over and over. The community is a war zone with crashing property values and one of Michigan's ugliest, least desirable places to live."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"They don't respond to suggestions. Their motto is we will never over-communicate and they don't communicate at all. In my entire career, the worst place I have ever had to work."

"Autonomy with responsibility. You must be able to jump right in and generate revenue. Once that is established, the world is your oyster there."

"You must be able to establish that you can be a revenue generater, not a trainee. Once that is established, the world is your oyster there."

"It is such a small company there is pressure for each individual to generate revenue."

"The only positive thing I can think of is that my judgement was almost always trusted"

"Get as much as you can up front, because you most likely won't ever get a raise"
What don't you like about working at Branch and Associates?
"Drawing errors, incompetent superintendents, never qualifying for benefits because of layoffs."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"You need to stand up for the employees"
What do you like about working at Ericsson?
"It was work. I like working. Ericsson is excellent in cellular communications."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"If you are desperate for the work and money, it is ok to work for Ericsson. First 2 or 3 items in the job description are the most important needs/requirements. All the rest of the job description items are wants but not needs."
What don't you like about working at Ericsson?
"No meaningful assignments. Sit for days without any work or assignments. Training, formal or informal, and/or self learning was discouraged and at times bluntly told to stop learning by the immediate manager. Role defined absolutely perfectly that the person is not allowed to know or do anything else, even though the person may be qualified in other areas. Ericsson created boxes around each position to the extent of defining how that person in the position would interact/speak with other persons and positions at Ericsson. Training materials were developed to teach each person/position how they would interact with other persons."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"I have heard other Ericsson locations around the world are not similar to the environment/work atmosphere of Ericsson in Texas."

"Advancement opportunities seem to be based on who you know, not what you know. Salaries are at the bottom end of the pay scale when compared to similar jobs in the Central Florida area"

"Pay scales, job titles, and job descriptions need to be re-evaluated and compared with other like jobs in the area."

"A great place to start a career, not maintaine one."

"The insane amount of responsibility heaped on young engineers because of the lack of experienced engineers. This allows you to develop an inordinate amount of skills and experience at an accelerated pace."

"Weak management structure that prefers to let the company's success ride on a few individuals."
