"Great Company to work for"

"I worked for 5 years 2 months at Ecolab in Greensboro, NC. I got along with most of the employees well but there were those who caused me problems. I got no issues resolved when I spoke to my supervisors. I hate to state that but it is the truth. The company had it's good moments although few and far between. I came in and did my job very well but seldom got any praise. I had hoped that Ecolab would be my last employer and I could retire from there but that was not to be."

"Management is very disconnected with field employees. Training is minimal. Compensation is very low. I drive almost 5,000 miles a month, but that time spent is not factored into my pay. Hostile work environment - exceed expectations, or else. Far too large of a corporation, you get lost in the shuffle and become a number. Micro-managing middle managers. Overall, poorly run company. It baffles me how they are so profitable."

What do you like about working at Ecolab?

"The benefits were great. I really enjoyed seeing the country and meeting new people."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Be yourself, there are some great people that work for that company but always remember it's a company and you always have to do more."

What don't you like about working at Ecolab?

"The traveling - it was a gift and a curse. I could never establish a life at home always being on the road."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"To be more open to their employees. The stress at a job which was 100% of the job should be better compensated. I enjoyed every second of it."
