"That it is a very small company and I have no room to grow."

"To be a bit more by the book. To give raises based on time worked and productivity. To be fair and set guidelines for reviews and interviews. To not be as laid back in this area of the business."

What do you like about working at AutoNation?

"I liked my boss and how he recongized my talents and allowed me to take on as much responsiblity as I could and advance."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Overall, it's a strong company. Corporate has cut all salaried positions and out source anyone not in a comission and profit making position."

What don't you like about working at AutoNation?

"It's a male dominated profession and not all managers are delighted that you want to advance and succeed. They are afraid you'll take thier job.I was laid off after 9 years- at 10 years I actually get a longivity award and bonus. So my contribution to the company was suddenly swept under the rug. That wasnt cool at all..."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Each dealership has it's own team, over 300 stores. My advice, learn about your staff and definately allow them to flourish when they show a desire to. The general manager ultimately must allow you to take advancement courses and that seems unfair if he doesnt share your vision- and your vision as being part of the management team or taking his job one day.."
