"They have been notorious about missing pay checks. I have never seen a company that was still in business with this bad of finances. There management was incompetent. There was a huge amount of favoritism."

"Fire the top management and bring in a whole new group of professionals. The owner needs to minimize his influence in the company and hire a CEO with experience to run the company."

"Intel was an excellent company, but I didn't feel that software engr. was considered important."
What do you like about working at Intel?
"Benefits were outstanding. My initial projects at Intel were incredible, and I grew tremendously as an engineer in the first 3 years."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"If you are a software engineer, go in eyes wide open. As long as you are don't mind being a mercenary, you'll be fine. Don't expect sucess to be a factor in long term growth of your team... sad, but a reality in many groups at Intel."
What don't you like about working at Intel?
"Software was considered second fiddle. Almost all of my projects were cancelled, even though in a few cases we had built very profitable products. Constantly seeing friends and teammates fired due to reorg becomes tiring and demoralizing."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"More focus required on a consistent organization for software development for the whole company. Release dead software projects - reuse is good, but pick software and/or software pieces which will promote success, as opposed to creating undue burden."

"The unethical, low-toned people who are employed at the company. The owners are aware that the person who holds the electrical license is a drunk and has come into work as such, yet they do nothing about it. Very unscrupulous people there. Be very wary of trying to gain employment there."

"They need to be not so concerned with themselves and actually be interested in the people who work there and not treat them like dirt."

"I liked working in a presale environment from my home in the Inland Empire."

"If you can, get into AT&T Mobility. That's where the growth is happening."
What don't you like about working at AT&T?
"The AT&T division I worked with, AES (Advanced Equipment Solutions), earned $1.9 billion in 2008 at a 12% margin. Somehow, they consider that to be low margin business. Yes, we have slowed down like everyone else, but I should end this year helping to close over $20 million in CPE business and services."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Do not discount the pull through business that we pull in terms of the AT&T core offerings that never show on our numbers. Once we develop a trusted relationship with our customer, they rely on us for helping in the decision of other products that AT&T makes. It has the potential to be very high-margin business."
