"I worked at Cvs Pharmacy since approximately last 2 years. I love working because I meet new customers daily, and make new friends. I enjoy the environment in the Pharmacy when there is low work-load; and, the best part of working in Pharmacy is when majority of employees are working together to finish pending works. I love helping customers and getting positive feedback for myself."

"Single worst job I ever had. Requests for transfers are subject to dm approval, don't plan on moving up unless you're in a store that performs well. I work in a store in a cracked out neighborhood, and am constantly questioned on shrink problems. Before that neighborhood I was working on my promotion. We are scheduled < 200 hrs a week. Only 2 ASMs left in my district. Hours have been cut every year since I started, and sales goals have increased. Stock prices up... shift = 9.00/hr... nonnegotiable."

"With the recent weather issues of sub-zero temps, CVS Caremark decided to call all employees on a Sunday evening letting them know that daycare closings would not be a valid excuse to call off on Monday. We would have to find another way. I have daycare because there is no other way. I'm sure the genius who decided this has nannies and their partner probably doesn't have to work. How wonderful for them. Thanks for threatening my job CVS. You really know how to treat your employees expcially with pizza! Sincerely, Working Mom"

"I have worked for CVS/pharmacy for 2.5 years now, and I do not really feel that my compensation and very little acknowledgement I get, or how slowly I can move up in the company, is making use of all of my customer service and organizational skills."

"CVS is a strong publicly traded company. Although hourly employees' pay is not sufficient, management is compensated appropriately. This has resulted in a continuous re-hiring process for store managers. As soon as someone is trained and effective, hourly employees typically leave for a higher paying retail company."

"The three months that I have worked at CVS Pharmacy was a learning experience where I worked under store managers with product management and customer service. My superiors as well as my co-workers were helpful in welcoming new workers. I was able to quickly learn the routines in working for the store and was able to help most customers with any issues or problems concerning products."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Listen to employees, appreciate their hard work, learn to accept your responsibilities and do not blame or accuse your employees."

What don't you like about working at CVS?

"The management is very poor and doesn't allow employees to be appreciated. They micromanage all the decisions and never appreciate your hard work. The management breaks many rules in order for themselves to look better in front of customers and make the technicians feel worthless."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Listen to your employees and work with them because they help you keep the pharmacy going and customers happy. The employees are dedicated and hard working individuals just as the management thinks they are hard working and worthy of praise."
