"I like the stability and the work relationship with hourly employees and peers. CVS Caremark provides realtime recognition to employees when they perform well and achieve all KPI's which I appreciate."

"Be knowledgeable about the company and do your research before you walk into the interview."

What don't you like about working at CVS?

"The automated system is of German design and we do not have the rights to change the computer coding to make system changes to the WMS which would benefit the operation. All change requests have to go through the German company first which is unfortunate."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Keep abreast with changes in technology and the industry in order to continuously improve the operations."

"I like my co-workers and managers, and the fact that they love to help."

"When you interview, you should try to get a permanent position."

"I don't like that it was only a contract position even though I was a good worker."

"Management needs to be more proactive with training and leadership for their workers."

"The work is always the same and its financially not rewarding long term."

"Management should continue to work with staff to make them an efficient part of the team."

"I liked the co-workers and vendors I got to work with every day. I also liked the low stress level at CVS Caremark."

"Research what other temps are being paid for said position and then negotiate for it in your interview."

What don't you like about working at CVS?

"The pay scale was unfair. Most of the employees, including myself were temps (through various temp agencies) and even though we all had the same job, we had different pay rates. I also thought that not being hired permanently and being a temp for a year and a half was unfair. Some temps, were temps for over five years with no chance of being hired permanently. Being a temp, you do not receive the same benefits as a permanent employee (like paid sick days and holidays)."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"I would consider how my decisions would not only affect my clients, but how they would affect my employees. I believe a happy employee, is more apt to be loyal and will always give 100% effort to the company."

What do you like about working at CVS?

"Being allowed to be creative in marketing my stores and beauty services."

"Do not expect rapid advancement within this company. Also, annual pay raises are very low."

What don't you like about working at CVS?

"The lack of opportunity for advancement within the Beauty 360 stores."

"Corporate needs better communication with the store management. Also, they need to promote their new concept."

"Seeing regular customers and touching base with them, making them feel comfortable coming to us and seeing us as more of a neighborhood pharmacy as opposed to a retail chain."

"Have some retail experience to work the register. Be patient and try to resolve any issues in a calm and orderly manner."

What don't you like about working at CVS?

"The limited pay and limited opportunities to move up in the company."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Pharmacy management was a little too lenient on staff members that I personally feel are more of a liability than help. More discipline or training should be given to those that need it."

"CVS teaches you how to multi, multi, multI task like a madman."

"As long as you agree to work a ton of hours with no opportunity for advancement, minimum wage, and ridiculous rules, you are good to go."

What don't you like about working at CVS?

"I dislike that you do all the work by yourself then get downgraded by the pharmacy staff because they think they are so much better even though they make the same as me. Although their job is waaaaaaay easier."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Management, please hire some more people to work! Having four people that are supposed to be PART TIME workers fill 250 hours is ridiculous. Oh...move some of the pharmacy staff up front. It doesn't take 10 people to do their job....and it takes a hell of a lot more than one to do mine."

What do you like about working at CVS?

"I enjoy knowing that I am helping people in some way, and I enjoy communicating with patients and helping them coordinate their health care. It is very satisfying to have a job that allows you to hold so much responsibility. The company also offers nice health benefits, which is a major plus."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"If you are considering working for CVS Pharmacy, know that you will be working with the public on a daily basis. You will see all kinds of people in all different states of health (physical and mental). This means that strong customer service (even despite stressful situations) is KEY. Especially in busy locations, patience is HUGE and you must always remember to put the customer first, no matter how difficult he/she may be."

What don't you like about working at CVS?

"I dislike the micromanaging that we sometimes face from higher ups. Also, while working closely with patients and other health care professionals in order to coordinate care can be rewarding, it can also be very stressful. Anytime your job involves working with other people or providing a service to people, there is a posibility for friction. I have also been extremely disappointed with the perceived lack of caring and the difficulty I have had with communicating with the company's HR. Another point of frustration is the fact that being a pharmacy technician does not easily pay the bills. Starting pay is minimal, and there is little room for pay increase."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"While I understand that the pharmacy is a business and must remain profitable to remain intact, I feel that this too often becomes the focus when, instead, the top priority should always be to provide patients with quality and pleasant health care service. I feel that micromanaging (which is often done to ensure optimum business profit) can step in the way of patient care sometimes, as it drains our time and energy, thus working against the business in the end."
